hillcrest red sox

July 18, 2009
we had our last game for coach pitch this morning.
this was a crazy season for dusty, myla, and kj because one, two, or all three of them were rarely at practice or the games together. they’ve been traveling, busy, sick, or something…
when we did manage to get there, i just love saturday mornings at the little baseball park. i especially love our utah mountains in the background.

a few of the highlights…

.....

that’s how many pieces the Red Sox manager Terry Francona chews
during one game.

can you imagine?

my jaw muscles would just give up and quit working if I even tried to chew that many pieces of gum.

all that chewing, was worth it tonight.

there was dancing, whooping & hollering at the Rhodes home!

everyone chant-
lets go red sox bum-bum bum-bum-bum

The team didn’t have enough players today, so KJ was asked to play – he was THRILLED! and, he did so good, Coach Daddy decided he will be playing on coach pitch every game from now on!

Big & Little Papi!
Earlier this week, it was bedtime and KJ was lying between Dusty & I in our bed. As KJ said, “Good night Big Papi,”
he added: “I want to be called Little Papi.”

tee ball

June 2, 2008

As with coach pitch, Dusty’s Hillcrest Red Sox tball team had their first game Saturday. Their jersey’s will be coming soon, but coincidentally, they were given green city tee’s just like Dusty’s coach pitch team…

As the game was being played, Dub & KJ were checking out/touching Sam’s spiked hair…
This is a typical scene at tball…wherever the ball is hit, almost ALL of the team runs to get it, and then coach Dusty has to break up the pile to continue the play.

Dub. If you look closely, I love that he is in awe of where he’s hit the ball!
