cowabunga bay

August 4, 2010
is a water park in salt lake city.
it’s primary focus is water slides.

we chose one of the hottest days of the year,
to spend half a day there.

kiana and her friend reagan are being dumped on by the huge bucket
in the first set of pictures…

then sela & her friend cozy are playing in the little kid attractions
in the second set of pictures…

myla & kj were nowhere to be found.
they did every slide almost twice,
and i think they went around the lazy river
200 times…

summer in the sun!

check it out,

.....

as some may know (and many may not), the shops at the riverwoods is under new ownership, and is undergoing extensive remodeling. some businesses have left, which has slightly broken my heart…but it has opened the door for a variety of new businesses to come in.

one such business i’m quite excited for is la jolla groves (pronounced la hoya), the newest riverwoods restaurant. it’s been open for about a month, and i’ve been three times to dine there now!

the owners, blake roney, steve hasler and kent anderson (the chef at la jolla, and also the owner of chef’s table in orem), are bringing orem/provo its very own year-round farmer’s market!

you see,

.....

…more priceless family time.

more delicious food.

more warm summer nights, visiting under the stars
on the patio.

day 2: sela was much more comfortable near the water,
but still did not want to be in the water.

smashball!!!

myla was doing the best she could to keep moana movin’ all over…

still, no luck putting her into labor!

laguna beach, day 1

July 30, 2010
after nuvo, disneyland, and california adventure we headed out of the city
and spent two days in laguna beach.

dusty’s aunt nadine & uncle david,
plus their 8 children,
malia, melani, maile, mele, martin, michael, moana, and momi.
+ spouses with more children…
all live in the most charming homes in or near laguna beach.
they have resided their for a long time now,
and i feel like they kinda own the place.

when we first arrived, we walked just a few steps from auntie’s home to catch the local free trolley. {yeah, the kids loved it} we strolled downtown, did some shopping, stopped in the local gelato shop.

.....

we went to disneyland.

the pros: we didn’t wait longer than 10 minutes for anything. we were able to do both parks in one day, all of our favorite rides & attractions. it was incredible.

the cons: it was hot. so hot, you’ll notice little sela~bella’s sweaty bangs in most the pictures.

this trip to disneyland & california adventure was truly magical for us. and, truly, all about sela. i observed that kiana & myla are kinda ‘over’ disneyland…after they get a few rides on ‘screamin,’ then it’s all about enjoying the other rides with sela…

but, all of us feel that way!

every ride or attraction was….

.....

during kiana’s week at nuvo, after her long, exhausting days of dance…

we would get in our pj’s at bedtime,
and watch episode after episode from season one of glee.

total girl time.

we watched about 16 episodes in three days, and we’re sooo hooked.

it’s KILLING us that the second volume of season one is not available on dvd till…

SEPTEMBER 14th!!!

my favorite glee song so far is this, totally inspired by my husbands red sox obsession. in case you don’t know, the red sox have a song.
