on the patio.

laguna beach, day 1

July 30, 2010
after nuvo, disneyland, and california adventure we headed out of the city
and spent two days in laguna beach.

dusty’s aunt nadine & uncle david,
plus their 8 children,
malia, melani, maile, mele, martin, michael, moana, and momi.
+ spouses with more children…
all live in the most charming homes in or near laguna beach.
they have resided their for a long time now,
and i feel like they kinda own the place.

when we first arrived, we walked just a few steps from auntie’s home to catch the local free trolley. {yeah, the kids loved it} we strolled downtown, did some shopping, stopped in the local gelato shop.

flashback friday

July 2, 2010
i was looking through dusty’s photo albums recently,
and came across the polaroid below…

this is my husband with his niece amber, circa 1982.

my husband & amber share the same birthday. pretty cool.

amber is now a momma to the cutest little girl emery.

emery has just about the cutest-cheeks you have EVER seen.
{she looks a little like her momma in the picture above…i love it!}

darling! darling! darling!

i love looking through old photo albums, so nostalgic.

flashback friday

June 11, 2010

in honor of memorial day, last week…

i’ve spent a lot of time thinking about dusty’s mom lately…

she passed away in February of 2007.

i am very willing to argue that she was the worlds best mother-in-law.

to say she was amazing, is not enough. to explain how she was the glue of her family, is not enough. to say she was real, extraordinarily talented and openly flawed, is not enough.

but while i’ve been thinking about her, the one concept that i think she displayed the most, is that she loved.

she loved life. she loved her family. she loved the outdoors.

nuvo in denver

May 8, 2010

kiana and i spent last weekend in denver. it was a great way to celebrate my semester ending!

kiana had another regionals for nuvo, with her company from center stage.

i have really cut back on the dance pictures i take. instead of taking pictures all year long at every dance event, i’ve decided to just hit the highlights and blog 2-3 of the events a year. otherwise, it is exhausting!

denver was fabulous!

we flew in the day before the competition which gave us three-fourths of friday to hit the city, and do a little touring. we headed straight to the Denver art museum.

we have had such a great time meeting up with friends & family lately…

we love visitors to utah!

meet the Bartholomew’s, minus a few of them…

this is Dusty’s aunt & uncle, nadine & david.

they have six girls and two twins boys, all adults now.

all dusty’s favorite cousins. {sorry to offend any relatives out there.}

i mentioned here that Dusty ran away from home when he was sixteen years old.

not his finest hour.

but can you blame him?

he was being raised on a ranch in southern nevada &
