our gym… and a challenge.

lately, i have been forgoing the gym and the laundry and the upstairs bathroom that despertly needs to be cleaned and instead trying to get caught up on blogging, enjoying friends who came to visit, and trying to adapt to our new back-to-school-schedule.

i wake-up and put on my work-out clothes, i wear them all day while enjoying all that is new around us…

and then, i take them off and go to bed. did you catch that detail: i never worked out.

so.

i have a new challenge for myself, and for anyone who would like to join me.

i am going to get in great shape, in the next six weeks.

i am jumping on this bandwagon really late.

but, very happy i finally made it!

do you know about all the health advantages that coconut oil offers? have you heard of coconut oil?

i have at least a dozen friends who have been raving about coconut oil for some time now {many of my besties are serious health nuts} , and for some reason i just kept listening but not acting on their advice.

i met alessandra during the alt. design summit in january.

she makes the most adorable pequenos. if you have a baby, go check it out. it makes me almost want to have another baby, just to bundle them up in one of her designs – they’re that cute!

recently, she also posted about eating radishes.

like…

just plain radishes. and, my curiosity peaked.

i had only had radishes on salads, never alone.

so, we had to try it. i brought home four bundles of radishes, rinsed them,

yesterday was six weeks.

SIX WEEKS, SIX WEEKS, SIX WEEKS, SIX WEEKS!!!

even as i type it, i have a difficult time believing it.

i stopped drinking soda, cold turkey. well, kinda cold turkey, six weeks ago.

diet coke, specifically, has been my lifeline for an entire decade.

A DECADE!

i’ve always tried not to think about the negative effects of carbonation on my body, but there’s always been this small voice in my head saying, “that much carbonation can NOT be good for you!!!”
{not really worried about the caffeine, or sweeteners, i have selective concern.}

was amazing.
beautiful success.

the ‘one voice children’s choir’ sang daphne’s song,
and most of us had glistening eyes.

so proud of my bestie.

this will forever be one of my favorite saturday mornings, for our family.

so fun to wake-up and start the day with all of us running. not just us.
we were surrounded by daphne, her family, neighbors, so many dear friends…
