princess and the pea set :: toy review

today, i am sharing with you one of my favorite -cutest- toys ever. {this is not a favorite because i am a fan of the story that inspired the toy – uh-hem, i think the princess is perhaps a bit bratty!} but… look how darling this toy is! sela agrees on this point.

i have been on holiday overdrive these days. why? well, for one – the gifts we {it’s a family effort this year} are making for a few of our friends & family this year needs to be delivered the end of november, so i’m trying to keep us on schedule to get everything handmade and finished by then!

forty in a box.

my dear friend susan, aka spicy turned forty last week. she is one of my most loyal, loving friends. and, my life is blessed beyond measure to have her in it. so… it was a sad day to not be with her to celebrate her big day. to make up for my absence, i sent a special package her way. You are my fave blog is featuring this special box today. it was one of the funnest projects/gifts i have ever planned, and wrapped. six hours of wrapping, to be exact. {in case you were wondering. all done somewhere between 10pm and 4am} and that darling colored paper? you can find out where it is from,

ManCrates! check these out! these crates are packed with male-inspired-goodness, and delivered with a crowbar to crack them open! how cool {and tough!} is that? perfect gift idea for the man in your life — on father’s day? or, any day of the year that you need to plan a gift for one of your special men…

there are at least five of these crates that i know husband would love! plus, you can re-use that crate as decor somewhere in your home after it’s cracked open.  perfect for organizing. father’s day is less than 4 weeks away – time to start planning!

…a bowl of cherries!

hey friends. i am so thrilled to share one more idea for mother’s day, like my spoonful of sugar idea,
this one is also simple & sweet —

i have always been a fan of these latte bowls at anthropology – for only $2.50 or $5.00 a bowl you can fill one with cherries for mom! she gets a fruity treat + pretty bowl to keep.

if you can’t find cherries in season where you live {i found ours at whole foods}, i also filled a mini latte bowl with chocolate covered cherries {from trader joe’s}.
