a bakers dozen

February 1, 2009

maybe i’ve been married 13 years…

maybe i adore him.

maybe i still get goosebumps when he kisses my neck.

maybe he makes me smile even when i’m grumpy. Even when I try not to smile.

maybe he is the funnest person i could have ever chosen to spend my life with.

maybe he is the most generous person i know.

maybe he is the most attractive man i have ever laid eyes on.

maybe we have a secret way to hold hands.

maybe we have a secret made-up word.

maybe he gives me unlimited support in everything i do.

maybe he has made my life more than everything i ever dreamed it would be.

mazatlan

January 30, 2009

ahhhh, mazatlan.
our home away from home.

Back in July, I shared our love of the Philippines. Well, my husband a.k.a. Pro Look Sports also has a factory in Mazatlan, Mexico.
Since PL started contracting work with this factory our family has been traveling to Mazatlan. While recently there we tried to nail down how many times we have gone. We think this was our seventh family trip. Of course Dusty has also gone solo. Our first trip there as a family I was pregnant with KJ. We have celebrated Halloween in Mazatlan, Thanksgiving, and lots of birthdays in-between. I am drawn to the familiarity Mazatlan has to us,

i had my cake and ate it too

January 10, 2009

I refused to focus on plans for my birthday all week because I was determined to get signed into the classes I wanted at UVU before anything else took place.

By Thursday afternoon, the task was done. With great luck, I signed into all three classes I was hoping for. Art history to the renaisance, photography, and drawing. In my drawing class there were 10 students that showed up to be signed in! ugh. The professor told us she would put our names in a hat, and draw five names to be added to the class. It was fate. Good karma. I was the first name drawn. woo-hoo! So meant to be. I am already having a love affair with going back to school,

soldier hollow

December 30, 2008

Our neighborhood {and some extra friends} have a new-er tradition of going to soldier hollow every year over the christmas vacation. I actually plan the event and couldn’t make it this week because our little sela has been sick. {she’s doing much better now.} sela is the clingy-est child with her momma and when she’s sick, it multiplies how clingy she is with me. so, sela and I stayed home where it was warm and Dusty took kiana, myla, and kj tubing!!!

They had a blast!

daphne was the incredible bff who took pictures for me since I didn’t make it.

how does one express love with words…it can never be explained well enough.

when this little girl was 4 weeks old she had a double skull fracture.
when we arrived by ambulance to the emergency room, the neuro-surgeon was forthright in telling us she would not make it.

she did make it.

she was born a fighter.
go getter.
she’s very tough on herself.
if she doesn’t do it better than everyone else,
she struggles.

to this day, I cry when I hear sirens.
my emotions can’t handle it, ever since I rode in an ambulance with her, begging God to help her.
The promises and one-on-one deals you start making with Him,
