boston ballet

September 28, 2011

…during the planning stages of moving from utah to out east, where our girls would dance was number two on the list of important details to figure out. {this detail followed “how close can we live to fenway park.”}

i started dance classes when i was about ten years old – and, at the time i also loved sports. in the end, dance was my passion. is my passion, following art. yet, i also love my knowledge of sports and enjoy balancing all of the above.

as parents, i think we all want to give our kids opportunities that we missed out on. we want to gather all the good from our past –

nycda nationals 2011

September 4, 2011

kiana and her dance studio had a great year at nationals. these photos are a glimpse of some of the dances kiana was in… i can’t explain with words how i feel when watching her dance. in fact, with our move to Boston, Kiana has had the longest break from dance that she’s had in about seven years, and i’m really missing seeing her on the stage. next week she and sela start training at the boston ballet school. we will have an entire year or more away from the competition scene, which will be very nice for her technical side of dance, but very strange… i hope to see my girls on stage soon!

we travelled across the country with this lamp post on the plane with us.

.....

first, our bearzy will be dancing this friday at the ‘center stage showcase,’ 7:00PM at the UVU Ragan theater.

this is the best of the best from center stage. if you wanna go,  wanna watch an AMAZING night of dance: contemporary, jazz, ballroom, hip-hop!

let me know, we would love to save you a seat!

if you prepay for tickets during the week at the center stage front desk, tickets are $8.00

if you wait till the night of the show, tickets are $10.00 and you take a risk of the show selling out before then. fyi: this show always sells out!
it would be a GREAT girls night out! date night!

last saturday…

May 28, 2011

these two little girlies are the cutest of friends.

last week, they were both going to be fairies in their dance recital, and being a fairy required special fairy make-up!

so, my friend rebecca and i decided to take our girls to lunch after their morning rehearsals… we all had lunch at the nordstrom cafe’, and then headed right on over to the mac counter.

this was their first time, for both girls, at the mac counter for makeovers. {obviously!}

omgosh. i was rolling. these two cutie-patooties were crack-ups! they loved every minute of it & i was dying at some of their expressions in the pictures!

i will let the pictures speak for themselves:

oh my my –

nycda – las vegas

February 21, 2011

earlier this month, we headed to vegas for a few days.

we had a great weekend mixed with dance & normal-vegas-visiting-events…

under blue warm skies,

we stayed at the vdara in the new city center.

it’s so nice, especially with kids. very central to the miracle mile shops, clean. new. contemporary. spacious. no casino {i like that when traveling as a family.} Even if we were disappointed that there weren’t any casinos near us, we could always just turn to online casinos instead. At least we’d still be together as a family. I have heard from my friends that some sites have a Welcome Offer when you join a new website,
