i typically dislike upsells.

however, if you choose to go see the holiday lights at thanksgiving point this year… {click here for more info}

the 3D glasses are pretty cool. they come in 3 special effects themes,
snowman – snowflake – gingerbread man.

we purchased one of each. this causes every light you see to have one of those shapes floating next to it.
turns out, those floating shapes are pretty darn cool.

sunroof = best seat in the house for christmas lights!

{well hello, darling…}

the night we went, {the day after thanksgiving}
we were the only car driving through the christmas lights.

.....

we headed up to salt lake city to cheer for our bearzy while she performed
in an opening act at the rockettes christmas spectacular.

(note: this is the first year for the rockettes to go on tour)

there could not be a better way to transition from thanksgiving to christmas!

kiana and center stage did awesome!

dude, the rockettes are awesome!

and, it’s such a fun-family-friendly-christmas-jammin’-show! we had pretty good seats down on the floor near the stage, and had paper snow {a blizzard} falling on us, lots of confetti and streamers. kj and sela could hardly
contain themselves in their chairs. they were either standing up dancing or chasing streamers.

love in a pan…

December 1, 2010

is what we call it.
there are other names for it…
but we’re keeping it clean here, folks.
we’re raising kids.

whatever it’s called,
it was kiana’s contribution to thanksgiving dinner,
and it was delicious!

{i just love that miss twelve loves to bake!}

recipe:

  • use one devil’s food cake mix
    – mix/bake according to package directions
  • let cool
  • puncture the cake with holes, all-over, using a straw or chopstick works best.
  • pour one can of sweetened condensed milk over the cake.
  • frost with cool whip
  • sprinkle with crushed skor bar over the top.

Thanksgiving

December 1, 2010

…was cold.

like, bitter cold.

we made plans for the annual neighborhood turkey bowl,
but no one showed up.
because, they are all smart and don’t go outside when it’s that cold!
however, we still bundled up and went…
it was our family, and the howell boys’ annual turkey kick ball!

thank goodness for the howell boys.
what, oh what, would we do without them?!?

once playing…we all warmed up and it was awesome.
i love a good game of kick ball.
seriously.
and our kids do too…
we’re all kick ball fans.

however, husband was especially grumpy while i was trying to play and take pictures,

.....

kiana was in a show last weekend at a local theater,
and it was incredible!

…we had the most amazing turn-out for her on thursday night.

i tried to count, we had sixty+ people there
who were friends-family-neighbors-her besties…

dude, it was fun.

thank you to everyone who came,

brought her flowers, cake bites!
your support fills our hearts!
much much love!

{iphone pics, not the best quality – dear santa, please bring me a 4G!!!}

.....

November 13, 2010

my man is forty today.

…as in just a few minutes ago, he turned forty.

and let me tell you, it looks soooo good on him.

he owns it.

and yes, there are kids or myself in every photo.

…because we love our big papi.

he keeps us so entertained. we feel his love.

we’re like moths to his light.

they say, life begins at forty…
bring it on – we’ll be right there, with you.

cheers, babe!
