friends & family

December 28, 2008

are one of the truest reasons to celebrate the holidays.
we so enjoy visits from people we have not seen in a long time!

Lucky for us, we have had a few this week!

Troy & Kajsa stopped by and spent an evening with us on the town- so great to see them and how we wish they lived closer!{our eyes are a bit glossy, since we had just shed a couple tears during “seven pounds”}

Dusty’s niece Amber {with whom he shares the same birthday,} her husband Ryan and new baby girl stopped in to stay the night and have breakfast with us! LOVE you all!

christmas eve

December 27, 2008

our family tradition of bowling and…

sushi!
Danny’s gift to Dusty, “the mansie!”
another christmas eve tradition,
jammies!
this year, everyone {including Dusty and I} received red “drop-bottom” union suits!
Sela had fallen asleep just before this, and opened her jammies a wee bit later…
with their names/nicknames embroidered on their bums!
We also spent a portion of our evening putting together a “fenway” puzzle- Dusty’s way of including the red sox in our christmas eve…

This year the Pro Look Christmas party began at Carrabba’s Italian restaurant for dinner. Dusty had changed the entire game plan the night before and spent all day preparing for a “Price Is Right” theme as opposed to his previous idea. The dinner started at 6pm so we missed the first hour as we all raced to prepare. I have to admit… although not organized months in advance as I’d like… he masterfully concocted and pulled off a gameplan that should take weeks in a matter of hours. Anyway, we caught the end of dinner,

holiday open house

December 7, 2008

One of the newer neighbors in our neighborhood had an amazing holiday open house last night…it has been the long-awaited-for, event-of-the-holidays kind of shin-dig! We were so excited to spend the evening with really great friends, delicious food, and LIVE entertainment! Everything was spectacular.

Taylors/Simpson/us/Duckworth’s{THANK YOU to the Borup’s, we can’t wait to spend more time with you and get to know you even better!}

christmas around the world

December 5, 2008

I chaperoned for all my kids’ field trip this morning to
Christmas around the world, a very entertaining show performed at the BYU Marriott center by the BYU folk dancers.
While we were walking into the Marriott center, Myla spotted our neighbor and her good friend Elizabeth. They both attend different private schools and I thought it was fun to get a quick picture of them both in their school dresses.
Myla and some of her other girlfriends from school-
The show for the elementary schools is only one hour and they do dances that represent about 8 countries during that time. Of course, the Philippines was totally our favorite.

December 5, 2008

Susan a.k.a. spicy is one of the most beautiful women I know. Everything about her is beautiful. Her smile, her soul, her family, her home, her love of cooking, her love of talking, her friendship…just beautiful.
she hosted the most amazing bunco this month. {thanks spicy!}
