happy monday!

January 16, 2012

hey friends. i am writing to you from utah today! woo*hooo! it feels so good to be back in the mountains of the west. surrounded by family & friends. for the first time since i’ve been a momma, i am on a trip sans husband & kids for nine days. and, the more amazing detail – husband is running life at home. {i know he’ll do great.}

… last week i spent some time playing with paper flowers, doilies, and coffee filters. my big girls have been waiting for me to do something with their bedroom walls since we moved to boston and i finally did.

come back tomorrow to see what i did!

wrapping presents.

December 21, 2011

these were a few of the gifts i wrapped this year. i have always been fond of brown kraft paper. in my eyes it is perfect. if you’re looking for other wrapping ideas, look here.

do you enjoy wrapping gifts? despise it? it can be a lot of work, after everything else that needs to be done — but, i love wrapping the gifts just as much as giving what’s inside… it makes my heart warm.

cheers to pretty ribbons!

xoxo.

are you looking for a last minute holiday craft or activity?

i used this tutorial, and thoroughly enjoyed creating with paper.

my myla arranged the ornaments on the floor in this pattern.
…could be used as wall art, too!

i watched my two younger kiddos frost their gingerbread, arrange candies, and balance candy canes to make a festive roof display.

my oldest daughter wasn’t interested in gingerbread this year,

yarn wreaths * yarn balls

December 3, 2011

we made it to the philippines just in the nick of time for husband to have his meeting at the factory.

…while he was busy with work, i grabbed most of the female management + a few extras and had a serious 45-minute craft quickie. this was originally planned to be an entire girls night out, but after we had trouble with our flights out of the U.S., and were delayed an entire day… i had to improvise. we were only at the factory for 90 minutes, and half of that time was lunch break, so we squeezed our girls night out craft in to a 45-minute lunch. it was disappointing, to say the least to miss out on an entire evening with these ladies.

thanksgiving table settings…

November 21, 2011

this past week, i taught a mini class on three different styles you could use to set your table for thanksgiving…
the nice part of this, i’m totally prepared now!

a little re-cap:

• start by choosing a table cloth or table runner. try using fabric, sheets, paper, or gift wrap in place of traditional tablecloths – it gives you more variety to choose from & is usually less expensive!
• next, plan a centerpiece. This can be traditional, or an activity for the guests. Your guests will feel extra welcomed if they are aware that you have thought about them beforehand. This includes the place cards! Keep in mind: you don’t have to put names on the place cards,
