Kiana: Had a rough week – but she’s still smiling! The teenage years are just not easy at times.

Myla: Computer parts have been arriving at our house almost every day – again. She’s gearing up to build her second computer. She’s looking to break down her old one and sell the parts individually, but first she needs to learn more about Selling Graphics Card, this way she’ll know what she’s doing.

With my current urge to decorate less, own less, and most of all be storing less stuff. I kept our Easter decorations more simple this year than I ever have. And I’ve gotten rid of all the rest! I have discovered that I want our home to always have the same earthy, organic, cozy feel. I was so excited to find two items that fit that mold perfectly. Funny, each of these bunnies I found at garden stores – or nurseries. Obviously my love of plants and greenery overlaps in more than one way in our home.

In today’s tour around my home I’m showing you our kitchen – we have an open plan kitchen, dining area and living room which works out great for us. One day I want to design my own home from scratch with rodrock (visit website here), but for now I’ll stick to home improvements. We recently redecorated our home and we even decided to buy some new stairs from somewhere like here. It looks great and I’m super proud of the kitchen. The first thing you might notice when you walk in our home is the large steel dining area chandelier. It’s unique. We call it “the claw” and we joke that it would be nice after we finish a meal if it would scoop up all the dirty dishes like an arcade machine,

Kiana: Went with her papa on her first official college road trip this past week to sunny Southern California. She has already toured UVU, and SUU here in Utah. In Southern Cali she toured UCI, Chapman University, and USD. She’s taken the ACT’s once and is waiting for her results – such an exciting time in her life! I can’t wait to see what she chooses to do. We tour the UofU this week!

We have one hallway in our home, and here it is! Keeping in mind our home is originally a 1960’s rambler, this hallway is pretty narrow – but I love how the gallery walls open the space and make it cozy. I’m still working on finding one final piece – maybe a weaving or circular mirror – i’m not sure yet.

Have you been curious as to what the silver silo in our living room is??? Here’s the answer: it’s a slide that goes to our basement! Very steam punk. There is also a steel ladder that goes up from the slide entrance to an attic space that we are currently finishing as a small playroom for Sela.

While in Southern Utah, Dusty and I wanted to hike with our kids at Red Cliffs. A place we used to hike all the time when we were in college at SUU. We lucked out with ideal hiking weather! Because we went on a Sunday morning the hike wasn’t very packed with people, it was gorgeous. The earth was definitely showing off!
