A portrait of my children (and puppy), once a week, every week, in 2015.

Kiana: Had “Preference” on Saturday. This is a girls choice semi-formal in Utah. She had five couples in her group – all good friends, masquerade was the theme. They went to breakfast and ice skating on her day date. Then I took their pictures at our house, the group had dinner at Tepanyaki’s, went to the dance, and went to her friend Tatum’s house afterwards for S’mores and a movie.

Myla: Preparing an egg for her puppy. One at breakfast. One at dinner time.

Kiana: She is on her first official high school weekend trip with friends this weekend!!! She borrowed her dad’s truck to drive her friends and herself to southern Utah. Before she left I warned her about the overly zealous highway patrol that monitor I-15 between Northern and Southern Utah. Regardless of the warning, she got her first speeding ticket on the way to St. George on Friday. Live and Learn.

Myla: She’s currently playing indoor soccer, taking indoor golf lessons,

Last night was officially the third little retreat – and now that I’ve hosted three, I’ve decided my favorite part is watching people discover new things. Whether it’s a new friend, a new skill, or tasting a new food — I thoroughly enjoy listening to the conversations or observing strangers who become friends, and witnessing these experiences.

Last night, we started the evening with an herbal tea bar, one of my favorite details. Gygi Koster was our beautiful teacher for an hour of yoga and meditation. Shelby Russell spoke to us about multiple ideas to eat healthy and to invest in taking care of our bodies – mentally, physically and spiritually.

Kiana: On the go. On the go. On the go.

Myla: Chill-laxin. This puppy momma was taking a break… She has been AMAZING with her puppy this week!

KJ: This dude. He’s a smart, sneaky one. Preface: Dusty Rhodes and I don’t allow the kids to purchase apps, new music, movies, etc. unless it’s a special holiday or they have paid for it themselves. Yet, at times the kids (namely: KJ and the teens) are trying to buy more virtual stuff than they are allowed to.

LITTLE RETREAT – no. 3

January 5, 2015

Are you feeling the new year, new you energy with the arrival of 2015???

For weeks I have been excited about this month’s retreat! One of my favorite local yogi’s Gygi Koster will be giving us a yoga/meditation class! This is the perfect way to help implement balance into your ambitious goals for the year! Or, if you have always been intrigued with yoga but you’re an absolute beginner – this class is for YOU! Remember: there is no judging when doing yoga, we’re all filled with the zen spirit! This retreat will be a great introduction to yoga. And, for those of you who are experienced yogi’s, this is a prime opportunity to take some one on one time with an experienced teacher and ask all the questions you’ve been dying to ask!

Happy New Year, friends!

With my recent return to blogging, I’ve decided to restart the “52 project” – I started it in 2013, and went for almost ten months. Now looking back I absolutely love seeing those photos and what I wrote about my kids each week. It’s a fun, great, memorable way to keep track of kids at various ages. I encourage you all to consider trying it. So, starting with week one of January, our family has spent a lot of time talking about resolutions and goals in the past few weeks.
