flashback friday…

March 11, 2011

when husband and i were married on february 1, 1996,
we went on our winter honeymoon to tahoe.

south lake tahoe.

undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful places in the world!

we spent our days skiing…at heavenly.

{not sad at all that those random red gloves went missing! in fact, thank the lawd all of that ski get-up is missing…oh. this picture cracks me up!}

i did not grow up snow skiing.

in fact, the first time i went skiing was on a date in high school.

then, when i was at college in southern utah, cedar city gets an insane amount of snow,

nycda – las vegas

February 21, 2011

earlier this month, we headed to vegas for a few days.

we had a great weekend mixed with dance & normal-vegas-visiting-events…

under blue warm skies,

we stayed at the vdara in the new city center.

it’s so nice, especially with kids. very central to the miracle mile shops, clean. new. contemporary. spacious. no casino {i like that when traveling as a family.} Even if we were disappointed that there weren’t any casinos near us, we could always just turn to online casinos instead. At least we’d still be together as a family. I have heard from my friends that some sites have a Welcome Offer when you join a new website,

feliz ano nuevo!

…and that ends my spanish vocabulary.

{it consists of about four greetings.}

we rang in the new year, on the beach in mexico.
with rich delicious food, live entertainment, and sparkling decorations.

as we talked about life, under the palm trees, with the glow of the moon…
we made another grateful note on the this-right-here-is-good tally.

and, my heart always does a skip at that moment…
the moment that the clock strikes twelve,
that the new year begins.
and i’m kissing my man.

i passionately believe in new beginnings. {and kissing, for that matter.}

cheers to 2011!
it’s going to be whatever you make of it.

drum roll please…

i hope to never forget…

play time on the patio, in jammies.
{love those santa gifts!}

anywhere you take myla,
she’s going to build a fort…
luckily, this pool provided the space and privacy needed to do so—

{santa brought water bugs = endless hours of fun!}

beautiful kenna with the tweeners favorite choice of beverage,
a virgin-miami-vice.

and every time my iced tea arrived with the splenda tucked under the lime..

{i was smiling}

happy anniversary…

December 28, 2010
to the only couple who has truly seen us through it all.
in sickness, and health; in good times and in bad, in joy as well as in sorrow,
more than a few times in wealth and poverty…

our lives have parallelled each others for over fifteen years.

you are the most loyal, dear friends.

we love you.

happy fifteen!

these pictures are from an entire collection i have of one afternoon in seoul, korea. 1997.

the four of us cruised around seoul on our scooters, visiting buddhist temples,
and outdoor markets. the funniest/scariest things happened this day…

christmas day.

December 28, 2010

we had a beautiful christmas here in cabo. we shared the day with good friends, delicious food, and the pacific ocean. i’ve found what i like most about christmas here, it’s that it’s not over. if we were home, i would have already gotten a crazy cleaning bug to take down the tree, super-clean the house and move on…

but here.

oh, we love here.

here, the christmas tree lights are still a-glow, we’re still whistling christmas tunes, and each morning still feels like christmas morning with the toy blizzard that appears.

the season continues.

plus, we know that white stuff will still be there, for months,
