Jenn was the hostess this month. She used her beautiful backyard for our girls night. Dinner was delicious, she had my very favorite sugar cookies in the world {a horrible weakness of mine} and she gave each of us our own cute little jar of treats.

Plus Susan, Kara, and I all tried the zip line – it rocks!

We had the most interesting gathering last week –

Danny had been complaining about earaches, so I asked him if he had ever used
“ear wax candles” before…
He had not…

So, I made a stop into Good Earth, our local natural food store and stocked up on a bundle of Candles/Cones – this is what they look like. Hollow-taper-wax-candles-

the instructions/recommendations – {if you’re interested in extra information; click on image below for a larger view}

We had quite the turn-out at our house of interested patrons to get their ears cleaned!

Enrique & Cody were in charge of the grilling, thank you for doing such a great job! I had the meat ordered from Classy Cuisine, it was a beef tenderloin covered with an herb rub and sliced. hmmmm, it was mouth-watering good!

I have a new goal. {again}
One day, I will be one of the artists in the Chalk Art Fesival.
I really enjoy festivals like this, and they {usually} inspire me.
Myla and I will do a picture together, she has already committed to me.

Trax was our chosen mode of transportation this evening, at last minute, we tried to convince the kids that we should drive straight there, but they all voted to ride TRAX.

The weather was perfect tonight, low 90s but we were walking the Gateway streets in the shade, perfect! I took pictures of most of our favorite chalk drawings. There were over 100 chalk drawings! The kids took advantage of free balloons {non-stop helium inhaling},

Orem Summerfest

June 15, 2008

Kiana & Myla performed at the park for Orem Summerfest, they both did great and had a lot of fun. Many of our family members, friends, & neighbors came to support them. THANK YOU! Afterwards, we spent a couple of hours walking around and going on rides. Kiana & Myla love “Gravitron” and KJ loves playing carnival games till Mom & Dad are broke, no joke. Sela is just happy to be with everyone.

Our neighborhood biked to Borders today for story time. It was so much fun. We had a big caravan. 4 Moms & 15 kids, w-o-w.

The kids, divided by age are having a kids book club for the summer. Each age group decided on their books together while the younger kids participated in story time. This idea comes from the “Family Fun” magazine. After they read their books in 2 weeks, we are going to have a follow-up activity with either movies and themed games based on the books they are reading.

Shannon Taylor was the photographer today, and more pictures are on Shannon’s blog, but here’s a few she sent me…
