Vegas

August 19, 2008

Day 1
We drove to Vegas – caravan’d with the Reese & Sosa families – and checked into the Mirage…
Pretty much crashed for the night.
Although, I will note that our kids were smitten with our very “old-Vegas” style hotel suite. There were 2 tv consols with large square TV’s that would raise/lower out of the top of the consol when you pressed the power button on the remote. Luckily, the tv’s were very sturdy because this became a carnival ride. To sit on top of the TV then raise with it as it popped up. I’ve been playing online craps and touching up my skills ready to hit a casino. There is no way I’m coming to vegas and not going to at least one casino.

the past 2 weeks…

August 3, 2008

went by so fast. I am wishing I could pause time, our kids will be back in school in 17 days…and this year, my 3 oldest will all be in school ALL Day. It’s just going to be Sela and I hanging out all morning/afternoon…so sad my babies are getting so big.

and, the next two weeks are packed with activities, so the time will fly, and summer break will be over… did summers pass this quickly when we were kids?
anyhow…

it is a habit for the kids to run to our mud-room/garage door and greet Dusty or I when we return home from running errands/work/etc.

I pulled in the garage last week and was greeted by KJ and Sela,

1. Ride a Bike.
He bought me a bike from a flea market, banana seat – daisies on the seat, streamers on the handles, I remember he spent hours holding the back of my seat till I learned to balance on my own. I definitely learned the importance of balance. My elbows still have scars from some big first crashes.
2. How to throw a softball.
do not… “throw like a girl.”
3. How to bowl.
I LOVE to go bowling! Anyone want to join a league with snazzy little bowling shirts and all?!? hehe. If so, check this link here to get an idea of the balls you can get,

for the week! They reside in Alaska, so a visit from them is a rare treat! I plan on posting a little of my real genealogy one of these days to spread some light on where we all fit in my family…

But, until then, I’ll share the fun we’re having with Sue & Irv here – They came into town on Sunday afternoon. On Tuesday, we opted for a girls day out. We indulged ourselves with “glitter toes” and lunch at Dear Lizzy…

Ahhhh, how i love Sundays.
This was a beautiful Sunday!

No alarm clock, everyone sleeps in, long breakfast, and long showers.
This was a “big” girls day.
Myself, Kiana, Myla, joined by Grandma Pat – we headed to SLC…
Dinner and a Broadway musical.
A perfect combination!
