santa

December 4, 2010

we have a family tradition of visiting santa at our local mall ever year.
{previous years, here, here, and here!}

he’s magical, this santa has a real white beard, real white mustache, and white hair. can you imagine spending your entire golden years looking like santa?!? all year long! if he has grand kids, they must think grandpa is the coolest guy in town.

kiana would like a new laptop, hers died this year.

myla has no idea what she wants. maybe an iphone, maybe money to save for things she wants,

the back of this photo says, in my dads beautiful handwriting…
“Franny’s first christmas taken in Moses Lake Wash. visiting sister Donna.”

the most wonderful time of the year, is here!
are you creating memories and taking photos and making an effort
to remember the glittery lights, jingle bells, and santa?
{i hope so!}

enjoy your weekend!

creativity ignites

December 3, 2010

it comes with the season. winter. when it gets cold outside, and our fireplace is going, and the holidays are near, and gift-giving is in the air, and my mind sets loose…

i want to create.

all. the. time.

i have to fight my mind to control the ballistic-approach it wants to take.

for example, i would like to forget all responsibility, and just create.
around the clock.

like a mad-woman.

but, alas, i have to contain myself to some degree. because, there are kids. four kids to be exact, who want to eat. and have their hair styled. and need help with homework. and they need rides to everywhere under the moon.

i typically dislike upsells.

however, if you choose to go see the holiday lights at thanksgiving point this year… {click here for more info}

the 3D glasses are pretty cool. they come in 3 special effects themes,
snowman – snowflake – gingerbread man.

we purchased one of each. this causes every light you see to have one of those shapes floating next to it.
turns out, those floating shapes are pretty darn cool.

sunroof = best seat in the house for christmas lights!

{well hello, darling…}

the night we went, {the day after thanksgiving}
we were the only car driving through the christmas lights.

holiday home tour…

November 9, 2010
shamelessly, we went straight from halloween to christmas.

on november 1st.

my thanksgiving table will be decorated appropriately…
with turkeys, brown, orange, leaves, and pilgrims.
and, we will feast with giant thankful hearts.

but,

big ‘but’ here…

the ambiance surrounding the next eight weeks
is set in red, silver, white, gold, green,
candy canes, owls, santas, wreaths, and
with lots of lights & sparkles…

christmas

December 30, 2009

is just so exciting as a family. i mean, look at this first picture of sela coming down the stairs, she really can’t even contain what is going on! i tried to grab my camera and snap a couple pictures as the kids were rushing down the stairs from their bedrooms, but they were going so fast i nearly missed myla!
kj tried to wake us up at 3am, but dusty gave him a quick, “no, it’s too early…go back to bed!” in a groggy voice, and then everyone woke up just after 8am, which is pretty good for jet-lagged parents!

our morning was a perfect combination of excitement, love, laziness, a big home-cooked breakfast,
