Have you tried Valter’s Osteria in Salt Lake City? There is nothing like it. For two days I’ve been trying to think if there is any restaurant in the world that I like better than Valter’s and I can’t think of any… The food is unreal. And the host is truly something special. If you go – you can’t go wrong with ANY of the food. However, I really recommend the lemon gelato for dessert that comes drizzled in honey and sprinkled with sea salt. There are no words for it, it’s indescribable. And the pasta – oh don’t start me on the pasta!
We reconnected with friends at Valter’s this weekend, and it was the purest reminder to me of what it’s like to be surrounded by longtime friends who genuinely care for one another. My best friend Daphne has been traveling the world for the past while with her family, and before that we were in Boston. This was our best re-connection since we are both in Utah again right now. This night was so good. We had a four hour dinner that included more laughter than I’ve had in weeks. My husband read somewhere lately and told me, “We often hear the claim that children laugh much more frequently than adults do. Many numbers are thrown around, but I’ve heard some claims that children laugh more than 300 times a day, whereas adults laugh less than 20 times a day. The implication is that somehow people become too serious and lose the ability to laugh while growing up, and adults should try to regain the lost joy of childhood by becoming more playful and humorous.”
Why is that?
One more goal for this year – laugh more.
