nycda – las vegas

earlier this month, we headed to vegas for a few days.

we had a great weekend mixed with dance & normal-vegas-visiting-events…

under blue warm skies,

we stayed at the vdara in the new city center.

it’s so nice, especially with kids. very central to the miracle mile shops, clean. new. contemporary. spacious. no casino {i like that when traveling as a family.} Even if we were disappointed that there weren’t any casinos near us, we could always just turn to online casinos instead. At least we’d still be together as a family. I have heard from my friends that some sites have a Welcome Offer when you join a new website, or even if you are a returning customer so that is something to consider if we were to join an online casino site. But for now, we are enjoying our time spent together as a family.

our suite had a stunning view of the bellagio fountains.

every fifteen minutes the kids would run to the windows to watch.

we had dinner one evening at ‘mon ami gabi,’
which is one of our fave french joints right across
the street from the bellagio fountains.

kiana is studying french & loves to read it & practice it at any & all times, including while visiting french restaurants. and, we love ourselves some crepes—anytime we can get them!

great food – views – and people watching. {!!!!!}
the kids were very entertained with storm troopers, jack sparrow, and so many more…

and really, there was a michael jackson look-alike that was eerily alike.

a few nycda-las vegas highlights:

this is a new production number for our teen & senior companies.

it’s a big mix of songs, but i love it because it’s awesome and because ‘beautiful monster’ is in the mix. love me, some ne-yo. if you click on that link, watch for the guy dancing with the braids that comes in around :45. it’s hefa. he just graduated last year, and his dance career has rocketed…he grew-up dancing at center stage, where my bearzy trains. and we all love him. wink.

la-la-love this sequence of pictures…

it just makes me think,
“oh, the hours these girls dedicate to dance to have moments like this, captured!”

papa came to cheer for kiana,
he was a champ and watched eight hours of dancing!
{did a little dancing, himself, too}

on the way home—
road-trippin’ rhodes style:

and, our trip was pre-Vday, so conversation hearts were in abundance…

in only four months, kiana and i get to spend two weeks in nyc for nycda nationals
{insert me: bursting with can-not-waits!}{all photos by me.}

  2. Hi Jane~
    I've been following your blog for about a year– love to see all your beautiful pics, fun parties, and read your health tips! Thought I'd ask for a little advice: we're thinking of going on a cabo trip over spring break– any tips for traveling there with 3 kiddies (ages 3, 5, and 8)? Where should we stay, play, eat, shop…?
    Thanks!

  4. Hey cutie, I was visiting sarahs blog and hopped over to ask when you go to nycda nationals if you bring the kids. Do they sit through all the dancing or do you find things to do everyday? Thanks!

  5. I have to say I really enjoy reading your blog. I check it after the news almost everyday. I've gotten a lot of great ideas from you, and love the pictures of your beautiful family (and house, and creative ideas). Not that it matters… but Mon Ami Gabi is a french restaurant not Italian. Thanks for sharing everything you do on this blog. It's inspiring.

  6. yes! @LeFitness {which i think is chandra, yes?} Mon Ami Gabi is MOST definitely FRENCH! lol! i was thinking french & typed italian. go figure. but thanks, i hate typos & it's now fixed!!!
