movies…

we’ve seen in the past month…

the squeakquel
i was disappointed. found myself looking around the theater, wondering if anyone else was not thrilled with this movie. the chippette’s are cute, the total of 5 minutes they maybe sing in the movie. that could be exaggerating…the time.

i agree with Mack Rawden’s review from, “cinemablend.com

quote, “Like Dave and Ian, I am a human being; furthermore, I am a human being who views not only my own time but that of my friends and family as valuable, non-renewable assets. In accordance with this viewpoint, I would never advise my friends or family to see Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. In its place, I would tell them take that hour and a half to read The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, to rent The Lion King, to climb a tree, to play Scrabble, to scrape their knees, to get dirty, to order from that new pizza place people have been raving about, to tell a girl they love her, to eat a plate full of cookie dough, to throw around the football, to giggle without modesty, to try a cartwheel for the first time in ten years, to bond over an old Beatles record, to pet a dog, to use their time as more than a mere distraction, to interact with someone, something or themselves.

But most of you aren’t my friends or family. You’re good people looking for something to do with your children. And while I still cannot advise you to go see Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, I cannot really advise against going either. That’s the thing about mindless distractions. One of ’em every now and again won’t harm anyone.”

the princess & the frog
an instant classic! please, please, please tell me disney is going back to an era of classic annimation & fairy tales. ohhhhhh. sela never moved. never took her eyes off the screen. i loved the setting in new orleans, absolutely charming! good work disney.

did you hear about the morgans?
after watching it, i wished i hadn’t heard about the morgans. so disapointing when all the truly funny parts are seen in the previews. hugh grant & sarah jessica parker are not convincing-enough that they are attracted to one another. luckily, it was a fun date night, helped make up for the bad movie.

avatar
stop whatever human thing you’re doing and go watch blue people with sparkly bodies. it’s avatar-ific! and i am not normally a sci-fi fan.

  1. i am dying to see Avatar. I normally would not want to watch a sci-fi but Boston saw it and LOVED it!

Thanks for the Heads up about the Morgans!! I totally wanted to see that.

I have to admit I LOVED the "Squeakel" Especially my kids!! Of course an adult wouldn't want to see it, but my kids absolutley love "the chipmunks" so i thoroughly enjoyed it… especially the "chipettes" i want their soundtrack. haha
