february blues

i missed the january blues.

january came and went with a ‘happy new year,’ the chaos of starting a new semester, my birthday, kiana’s dance solo for 2010 was choreographed, a costume design is in the works, snow, snow, more snow, and ten thousand other things…really.
one of the ten thousand was our anniversary trip which filled my cup to the brim with sunshine, so i will definitely endure the rest of winter.
we returned home, and i am hours and hours behind in homework. at least it feels that way. and, i know you don’t want to hear about it, but really people, maui gave me some serious junk in my trunk. i need support. tomorrow morning i will once again, pledge to my own diet. i am going off sugar, indefinitely. but i need back-up. serious back-up. who wants to join me? let me know, we’ll band together, and become healthy together.
or, my february blues may never go away!
you know the little zipper on jeans? i’m still managing to squeeze into my jeans {there is a little dance involved}, but that little zipper is poking his head out behind the denim and literally screaming…
“i can’t keep this up much longer!”
seriously.
four goals for this week:
1. top priority, continue to pray for little B.
if you need a better perspective on life, grab the tissues, and read this.
also, a few of you have inquired as to how or where to make donations for little B., i am awaiting information on that.
2. hold my kids a little longer, squeeze a little tighter. scold a little less. forever do this.
3. go off sugar indefinitely
4. get caught up on my homework
{maybe my homework would be done if it wasn’t the bottom of my priority list. hmmm?}

  1. You must be the "Jane" Sara refers to in her blog. Bless you for being there for her. I am a friend of a distant relative and heard about Bronson on facebook. I check Sara's blog daily for an update — and today she had the pics of the lovely locket you gave her. Perhaps the greatest part of the gift was your loving directness in giving her permission to tend to her entire family; while giving her a graceful solution to not leave Bronson behind.

I have enjoyed reading your past few blog posts — and if I may…your priorities are right on track. Do not change a thing.

And as far as your belly-button goes? I've had 5 babies (4 pregnancies — twins) and if the only big thing I had remaining was a belly-button I would be jumping up and down and *bragging* about it.

Hmmmm….perhaps I should consider adopting your Goal # 3 🙂 Anyway — show it off girl — if you've got it (and you've earned it) flaunt it 🙂

All the best to you, and your little family.

  4. Sorry I can't join you on the sugar diet thing, although this pregnancy I can hardly eat anything so I haven't been eating much sugary stuff anyways. Thanks for the congrats on the baby, she was a total surprise! Thanks so much for all the love and support you give to Sara. She is so thankful to have you as a friend. What a thoughtful and sweet woman you are. Wish I knew you better myself. 🙂 Looks like you had a fantastic trip, a bit jealous I must confess. Good luck with your goals! Keep in touch.

  5. Jane I have always admired your drive! If anyone can accomplish all of their goals it's you 🙂 I'll definately join you on #1 and #2. But I really can't help you with #3 and #4 😉

  6. Jane can I join you in all 3 of your goals too?

  9. Hi Jane! I came across your blog a year ago & peak in now and then to see your cute family. I hadn't checked it out for a long time & couldn't sleep, so I was looking at friends blogs and looked at yours and I saw the post about your friend Sara & her little boy Bronson. I stayed up until 4 a.m. crying as I read her story. I have been forever changed by her strength and her testimony. I have shared her story with others here in Texas and have had everyone saying prayers for her family. Thank you so much for being such a loving friend…I am sure you have changed a lot of lives by sharing her story. I also want to let you know that your creativity and energy is inspiring. I wish I had 10% of it. I am sure you will reach all your goals and more. Thanks for being an inspiration.

  11. I am willing to join you on all 4 points. I have friends here in Vegas helping with #1 and my thoughts/prayers are with him and his family daily. My #4 will substitute housework for homework. Let's go! Since the days of SUU Ballroom Co. are gone I need all the help I can get to keep the junk out of my trunk.

  12. Pffff…. Like you need any help girl! You are the most committed person I know. You don't give up on anything… even a husband full of faults. So… you go baby mama! I can do #2 and I'll substitute my work-work for #4.
    Rock on! Lots of loves…

  13. Great goals Jane! I'm with you on all 4…except I am swapping homework for staying caught up on all of my etsy orders!

The locket and advice you gave Sara is amazing! You are blessed to have each other!

Weight loss…it is kicking my tail this time! I've been working VERY hard and have only lost 7 pounds in 5 weeks! I usually and double that! grrr…NO idea what the problem is.

    Thanks for being an inspiration.
