Chicken Squares

About a month ago Dusty was telling someone about his “favorite foods” that I — USED to make – and haven’t in years – so I’ve been pulling out old recipes lately for meals. This is one of those, Chicken Squares. I’m not so sure if its a very good picture of it, I’ve decided I’m not great at displaying/photographing food…at least not yet –

Chicken Squares
Melt 3 tbl. butter/margarine in a frying pan. Saute’ 1 tbl. chopped white onion. When the onion is slightly browning add 2 cups cubed cooked chicken. Brown together.

In a seperate bowl, add 1 softened package cream cheese, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/8 tsp. pepper, 1 tbl. milk, 1 tbl. mayo, and the onion/chicken from frying pan. Stir till blended.

Use 2 pkgs. Pillsbury croissants/cresent rolls. Layout one roll, scoop one spoonful of mix into croissant and roll up. Place on greased baking sheet, continue this with all the rolls. Usually covers 2 baking sheets. Bake for 9-11 minutes at 375 degrees. The rolls should be browned when done.

Serve with Cream of Chicken soup over the top as a sauce – when you warm the cream of chicken soup – do not add milk.

ta-da, enjoy!

  1. Sounds Delish! Oh i made the Raspberry Salad and it was so good, i am sure it would be lots better with the Tapioca instead of Rice pudding! oops…
    See ya tomorrow!

  2. Hey, I found your link on Kimball and Melissa’s blog and have had so much fun going through your blog. I will be a regular visitor. It’s so fun to see what you’re all up to and thanks for the great recipes, Jane. I’ve got to try those salads! Congrats to Kiana! How fun to be in the Nutcracker and what an honor. We’ll look forward to hear more.

  3. And do you remember where you GOT this recipe? Yes, that’s right… a Staker Family classic! (Although Matt had it a whole lot more growing up than I make it now… not exactly the “healthiest” thing in my repertoire! But it sure is yummy! 🙂 ) Anyway, nice to see it is still out there pleasing the rest of the world!
