one of my new years resolutions for 2011 was to start putting my blog in to book form. finally. since i started blogging almost four years ago, i’ve been saying “i want to make my blog in to a book!” and this year, i found a way to get that done. in the past two years, i have started laying out my blog in blurb at least three times. and each time, i realized – with all i do – after the time i spend blogging, i could not figure out when to spend time designing the book layout.

then. i heard that blurb had a community of publishers that could design your blog books for you –

oh man, these kids were hard to say good-bye to… in fact, i may have given them more farewell hugs than even kiana did. for years, these girls & guys have hung out at our house – quite often i sit only a room away laughing almost as hard as they do at how crazy funny they are. for the past few summers, i’ve had them running through my kitchen on summer nights during night games – they play with all of our younger kids just like they were their own siblings… in fact, you can see myla on the front row snuggled up with one of our favorites – cayman. and, without a second thought i love each of these kids as if they are my own.

*thank you…

to everyone who helped us with the yard sale! we had help carrying items from in the house to outside; pricing items; setting up the yard sale signs we got from somewhere like Super Cheap Signs; taking pictures; help with adding up people item’s and collecting the cash; help cleaning up; help carrying items to people trucks; and on and on and on!

*thank you to everyone who bought our stuff! we had two-days of complete chaos + complete success!

*thank you to our neighbors who were very very patient with the huge traffic jams in our neighborhood.

with everything said and done, we feel like we are one more big step closer to our move.

zion national park.

June 6, 2011

last weekend, we headed down to zion national park for memorial day-weekend. we met up with husbands relatives from laguna beach there. zion national park was kind of a middle-meeting-ground for most of us. plus, husband and i used to hike around these parts when we were dating in college, so it was very nostalgic and fun to take a family trip there. and, it was a good road trip-farewell-to-southern-utah-trip. trip. trip. trip. just to say it a few more times. ::smiles::

i actually uploaded all of the pictures/collages last week, and had my first negative run-in with word press. i have no idea what happen… but, after starting the post at 1:30 am, i hit publish around 3am one night…

school’s out…

June 3, 2011

at 10:15am this morning.

my kids can’t wait for summer vacation! this will probably be the longest summer vacation they ever have – because, boston school districts don’t get out for summer vacation for a couple more weeks… then, when we usually start school here in utah around the third week of august – they are not going to be returning to school till the first or second week of september! that gives them a full three months to play! woooo-hoooooo! in my opinion, that’s how it should be!

and, in honor of the 2010-2011 school year coming to an end –
here is a long peek at a few of the activities/events my kiddos had at school &
