our kids had their last day of school on friday, may 22nd. we picked them up from school at noon and headed to vegas!

we had a family wedding to attend in boulder city this weekend, and our darling niece dani hooked us up with a sweet deal where she works – the green valley ranch. we had a fantastic, spacious room and 50% off all of our food, love good deals. thank you very much D!

our family had a very needed, relaxing, weekend in the sun. there is nothing better than uninterrupted family time. we loved their pool. it had this awesome beach section full of sand that molded into the regular pool.

utah dance fest

March 29, 2009

Utah dance fest is a dance competition held in Logan, Utah. If my memory is correct, I think this is the fifth year we have attended this competition. I love weekend trips with just my two big girls, and this weekend was no exception…

Kiana went along to compete her solo on Friday, but the main focus of the weekend was Myla’s jazz company “mini elites” competing on Saturday.

Kiana’s solo, “dancing with myself,”-

Kiana had a lot of fun performing/competing her solo. She received the top award in her category, “queen” – which is more or less the first place out of the 10-11 year olds jazz advanced category.

“Dae Han Min Guk!”

March 26, 2009

since I went back to school, I also go back to spring break!

most of my spring break I was chanting,

“Dae Han Min Guk!” {Korea} bum-bum, bum-bum-bum!

or, “U.S.A., U.S.A., U.S.A!”

Dusty planned my spring break this past weekend for four full days of baseball games, movies, delicious food, and shopping…in Los Angeles.

We went to the world baseball classic. This was the/our 2nd world baseball classic, we also attended the first one three years ago in California. It’s a new-er tradition for us.

{all pictures compliments of Jared, I didn’t take my camera!}
maybe i love sitting at a baseball game…

mazatlan

January 30, 2009

ahhhh, mazatlan.
our home away from home.

Back in July, I shared our love of the Philippines. Well, my husband a.k.a. Pro Look Sports also has a factory in Mazatlan, Mexico.
Since PL started contracting work with this factory our family has been traveling to Mazatlan. While recently there we tried to nail down how many times we have gone. We think this was our seventh family trip. Of course Dusty has also gone solo. Our first trip there as a family I was pregnant with KJ. We have celebrated Halloween in Mazatlan, Thanksgiving, and lots of birthdays in-between. I am drawn to the familiarity Mazatlan has to us,

was indeed happy!

However, we did get started on the wrong foot. Evidently, we managed to get the one taxi driver in L.A. who did not know how to get to our hotel. Instead of a 40 minute ride, it took two hours! geesh!

Other than the long taxi ride, we had incredible weather, it was beautiful in the high 70’s or low 80’s each day we were there and considering we were there over a 3-day weekend the place was not busy at all! Seriously awesome.

For Disneyland and California Adventure our favorite place to stay is at the California Grand Hotel. The day we arrived we kept it low-key and didn’t go to the parks right off the bat.
