our weekend

August 12, 2009

went like this…

we were going to leave in the afternoon. by 1pm at best.

but dusty needed to work and i had lots of things i wanted to get done before we left town…and if we waited till 9pm, then we could pick up kiana from dance and she could go with us too instead of stay home with grandma.

so, we ended up starting our 10-hour drive at 10pm.

i did all the driving except the last hour on the way to bridgeport, california. because my night-owl tendencies kicked in and i was not tired at all.

almost exactly ten hours later we rolled into our hotel (very small-town hotel) at 7am,

The Show in Hong Kong

July 13, 2009

Sorry… I suck at taking pictures… I couldn’t figure out how to get the freaking flash to come on in the day. ARRRGGGGGHHHH!
Anyway, this blogging thing is kind of addicting… 🙂 I’m not sure I could stay up all night doing it (like pretty much ALL OF YOU) However… it is rewarding.

So, Hong Kong… Gorgeous Hong Kong… Jane and I’s favorite city in the world. It has everything, gorgeous beaches, shopping, scenery, nice people, great food… and of course Disneyland. Myla and I didn’t make it there. I asked her if she’d want to and she chose to go to the Philippines as soon as possible to see her friend Trish.

We hit the show…

Hong Kong

July 11, 2009

So our night/day in Tokyo came to an end. Myla and I headed to the airport to go to Hong Kong for the show. On our way out we found all these black teas in a can that reminded us of mom… this one was a milk tea which she wouldn’t like because it has something in it. DON’T MESS WITH MOM’S TEA OR DIET COKE… PLAIN JANE JUST LIKE HER NAME… that is how she likes things.
At the airport Myla gave her classic “I’m bored!” statement as we waited for them to figure out our tickets AGAIN! Do other kids do this? Drives me crazy… I’m like, “YOU ARE IN FREAKING JAPAN how can you possibly be bored.”

Well… Moose and I were flying to Manila today and ended up getting stranded in Tokyo (where Moosey happily remembered Savannah lived). We ended up getting a night at the Radisson on Delta with meals, shuttle service, etc. I used my sweet demeanor to get us 35,000 miles, rerouted to Hong Kong directly (we were going there the next day) in business class, a $100 off coupon for another flight and a meal at Narita.
We decided to take a dip in the pool the next morning… it was outside and FREEZING cold… I was hoping to trick Myla and acted like it was nice and warm when touching it with my toes… before I could coax her to jump in she gave me a big push…
