“Jungle Book”

May 17, 2008

Ivy Hall always does a very impressive job with their class or school programs and this time they were off the charts, again. For the end of year spring program, the entire school did, “Jungle Book” and the preschoolers were all adorable bumblebees.

KJ, Dub, & SamKJ & Sam are in the middle, we’ll say they are looking a little “not interested” in performing…

KJ’s pyjama day

April 8, 2008

was last week. I had to snap a picture of him with those classic spiderman slippers. He insisted on wearing his GAP army hat because it matches his back-pack. Like Father like Son, KJ likes to be matchy-matchy!

Our kids school has had a “read-a-thon” for the entire month of February. This past week each classroom chose a book/theme and the room Mom a.k.a. Dusty Rhodes in this case were in charge of decorating the door with the chosen theme. In Myla’s class the room DAD set records with his amazing door decor. Hello, professional door decorator! Myla’s class chose “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane,” and Dusty had “fast signs” make a disposable door sticker…can we say, “wowzers!”
It was Myla’s turn once again for “Traveling Tales.”

my little Amelia Earhart

February 12, 2008

Myla’s class has been studying great Americans and Inventors in Social Studies lately, and she was given the assignment of doing an oral report on Amelia Earhart. It was an option to dress up, use props, charts, etc. She used this picture as her inspiration for her costume and ran all over the house looking for the right things. Thanks to KJ she had the shirt, tie, and jacket. That hat is actually hers! She did such a great job, and even was able to answer questions from the kids in her class that was from information she had read but not included in her report. While preparing this report she became very fascinated with Amelia, she thought it was so cool that she was the first woman to fly over the Atlantic,
