Jazz dance intensive

August 9, 2008

Kiana & Myla spent most of this week at the Jazz dance intensive, a.k.a. dance camp. They took a huge variety of classes. Their days were packed with ballet, jazz, contemporary, yoga, Polynesian dance, tap, hip-hop, nutrition classes, etc. etc.

Myla was there 9-3 Monday & Tuesday. And, Kiana was there 9-4 Monday – Thursday. They each wrapped up their intensives with parent shows and I was able to watch the adorable routines they had learned in that time.

This is Myla & her good friend Rozlyn, with Sela attached to Myla’s hip. Sela LOVES to be around her sisters when they are dancing, especially at the studio. She will be taking a 2 YEAR OLD TODDLER class this Fall,

Philippines

July 23, 2008

It has been 6 years since Kiana, Myla, and I have been to the Philippines, way too long. This was KJ’s first trip.

It takes 27 hours to go from point A to point B for this trip. A friend of ours who visited the Phillipphines told us about using a transportation service called 2go travel but we had already made our plans. The kids are troopers, their parents are super-troopers. When we arrive in Manila, Dusty has made it a habit to spend the night at Edsa Shangri-la for a night then the next morning, we make the drive to the factory about 2 hours north of Manila to Angeles.
this is how my camera takes pictures –

Our kids have always been known to make temporary places of sleep all over the house. Whether it be in a tent, fort, on couches, “burritos” in Mom and Dad’s room, whatever it is…they would prefer to sleep anywhere unique instead of their own comfy beds. But, usually their temporary beds last for one night, two nights, maybe three. Then they return to their rooms until the next in-house camp-out takes place.

Right outside our {Dusty & Jane’s} bedroom we have a double-door linen closet.

Across the hall {about 6 feet away} from this linen closet is a single-door linen closet.

Six weeks ago, KJ decided to make his own “house”

The team didn’t have enough players today, so KJ was asked to play – he was THRILLED! and, he did so good, Coach Daddy decided he will be playing on coach pitch every game from now on!

swim lessons

June 19, 2008

Myla & Elizabeth {our neighbor & Myla’s dearest friend} are in their last swim class together, Myla will be finished after this year. Her class focuses on swim strokes, form, speed, breathing, and diving. Myla has always been fearless in the water and is doing great! I know a lot of kids who started swimming lessons early with companies like Baby Paddlers and I think it’s a good idea to get them started early. Swimming is a great exercise and it’s fun, so why not start them early.

KJ, he loves his swim class. His teachers name is “Missy,” and all day long he talks about her.

Orem Summerfest

June 15, 2008

Kiana & Myla performed at the park for Orem Summerfest, they both did great and had a lot of fun. Many of our family members, friends, & neighbors came to support them. THANK YOU! Afterwards, we spent a couple of hours walking around and going on rides. Kiana & Myla love “Gravitron” and KJ loves playing carnival games till Mom & Dad are broke, no joke. Sela is just happy to be with everyone.
