a.k.a carpool.
Jenn, Shannon, and I have carpooled our kids to school in the morning for this entire school year.
Let me be more clear – Jenn, Shannon, and Dusty. I would say Dusty does the majority of the driving. He loves it. I haven’t asked the kids, but I think they love it too.
Since Dusty’s been busy this week, I took my turn of driving. I was sad to think that these kids may not be going to the same school soon so I wanted a picture to remember the daily event.
although, I should also clarify. These are calm pictures. In my car we watch a movie,

my baby girl was doing some homework in the kitchen tonight, and I was over-looking her questions…
1. What were the names of the three wise men in the biblical story?
2. Name two planets that don’t have a moon.
any guesses?
ummm, I was stumped.
luckily, she had wikipedia at her fingertips!
{she’s not looking so much like my baby girl these days, is she?!?}
answers:
1. Caspar, Melchior & Balthasar.
2. Mercury & Venus.
{I’m guessing I did know the answer to #2 at one point in my life and have since forgoten…}

ahhhh, mazatlan.
our home away from home.
Back in July, I shared our love of the Philippines. Well, my husband a.k.a. Pro Look Sports also has a factory in Mazatlan, Mexico.
Since PL started contracting work with this factory our family has been traveling to Mazatlan. While recently there we tried to nail down how many times we have gone. We think this was our seventh family trip. Of course Dusty has also gone solo. Our first trip there as a family I was pregnant with KJ. We have celebrated Halloween in Mazatlan, Thanksgiving, and lots of birthdays in-between. I am drawn to the familiarity Mazatlan has to us,

was indeed happy!
However, we did get started on the wrong foot. Evidently, we managed to get the one taxi driver in L.A. who did not know how to get to our hotel. Instead of a 40 minute ride, it took two hours! geesh!
Other than the long taxi ride, we had incredible weather, it was beautiful in the high 70’s or low 80’s each day we were there and considering we were there over a 3-day weekend the place was not busy at all! Seriously awesome.
For Disneyland and California Adventure our favorite place to stay is at the California Grand Hotel. The day we arrived we kept it low-key and didn’t go to the parks right off the bat.

Since our kids are attending school at ivy hall academy, they get to enjoy skiing every Monday afternoon during the winter. In January and February they are dismissed early at 11:30am to go skiing at sundance. It is an option to just ski, or an option to take ski lessons. We choose to take our kids and ski with them {well, with one of them!}, Dusty has given them lessons himself over the years and they are awesome!
Kiana rode up with a friend from her class and honestly, I saw that girl on the mountain in quick passing about four times. Each of those passings were so quick I never got a picture of her. How is it I have such an independent ten year old?!?
