prom 2015

Prom style - classy and trendy via seejaneblogKiana went to her high school prom this past weekend with one of her best friends, Parker. Here in Utah it’s a tradition to go on a “day date” and then in the evening you go to dinner, the dance, and often times an after the dance activity. Her group went ziplining in Provo canyon early in the morning and to lunch – they had a blast! Then in the evening they took pictures, had dinner at our local country club, went to the dance which was held at the Provo convention center and watched “Big Hero 6” with snacks at one of the guys houses afterwards. Kiana had a GREAT time.

Kiana: Went to prom with one of her best friends, Parker, and had such a great time. You can see a video of the day/date here!

Myla: I was late to Myla’s first high school softball game, and while I was hustling to get there – Dusty sent me a text that said, “Baby girl is playing short stop!!!” She had an awesome hit too! I’m looking forward to ten weeks of softball games, and lots of big hair ribbons tied into bows on her braids!

sweet seventeen celebration at grand america in slc via seejaneblogKiana’s birthday was the end of February, and she turned seventeen! To celebrate we spent the eve of her birthday in the company of good friends and family. We had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants – Valter’s Osteria in SLC, we spent the night at the Grand America hotel and enjoyed swimming and more. I gave each of her girlfriends & sisters a tote that I made that said, “FRIES before GUYS” and I surprised them with matching PJ’s as party favors in the bags. We told funny stories and laughed all night. It was good. I love these teens so much, they are such good kids, and it’s so fun that they each embrace Kiana’s siblings like family when we are all together.

Kiana: Officially 17!!!

Myla: She made the high school softball team!!! I didn’t realize till tryouts that Utah state cut the freshmen softball teams from the state budget in years past, so there are only Varsity and J.V., this made Myla extra nervous but she made it! (thumbs DOWN for girl sports cuts.)

KJ: A fierce game of Blokus for this little trash talker… and watermelon juice shots!

Sela: Spends HOURS a day doing this stretch EVERYwhere we go!

Kiana: Has been searching online 24/7 for a prom dress. It’s not easy to find the right dress.

Myla: Passed her state foods test and gets to show off that accomplishment at school with this personalized apron!

KJ: This dude went temporarily missing on Wednesday after school this week. He had our nanny pretty worried when she couldn’t find him, his dad left work, I left school early, and we were ALL looking for him around our nieghborhood!

Kiana: Is spending the long weekend in Boston visiting her friends (and the snow) there. This girl is savvy and independant.

Myla: Has been practicing her softball skills while KJ practices for spring baseball. She’s now hoping to be on the softball and golf teams this spring for high school!

KJ: Since being grounded from “technology” he has reconnected with his Rubiks cube, air soft guns, bike, and more – I just might not allow technology for a long time because I lOVE how he spends his time when grounded.
