last week, dusty chaperoned kiana’s 6th grade field trip to the clark planetarium in slc. this turned out to be a great daddy-daughter day. the two of them sat all snuggled up on the bus,
while en route – duo-iPhone-ing.

Dusty said, on facebook, “First time on a school bus for… 22 years?? Fun, fun! I don’t remember it being this tight and uncomfortable… Probably because we were always busy doing other things! :)…How’s a person supposed to make it in these trying circumstances. :)”

oranges as fruit cups!

we have a lovely tradition {two years now} of having new years day dinner at my dear friend susan’s home. it is soooooo nice to have dinner at someone else’s house the night after i host this. and, it’s sooooo nice because suzie is one amazing chef! and, it’s sooooo nice to be surrounded by great company!

and.
and.


i was asked to bring fruit this year. due to the large supply of oranges i currently have, i had the idea to turn my oranges into little fruit bowls.

we, and seventy of our friends spent the afternoon of myla’s birthday tubing! i feared we would all freeze to death, but even with fresh snow falling, it was not too cold. once we started tubing and pulling kids on tubes, we all kept warm! including the little kiddo’s, sela was a trooper and lasted the full two hours, never once complaining!

this is definitely the way to go tubing, the luxury of a tow-rope!

is just so exciting as a family. i mean, look at this first picture of sela coming down the stairs, she really can’t even contain what is going on! i tried to grab my camera and snap a couple pictures as the kids were rushing down the stairs from their bedrooms, but they were going so fast i nearly missed myla!
kj tried to wake us up at 3am, but dusty gave him a quick, “no, it’s too early…go back to bed!” in a groggy voice, and then everyone woke up just after 8am, which is pretty good for jet-lagged parents!

our morning was a perfect combination of excitement, love, laziness, a big home-cooked breakfast,
