allow me to introduce you…

to Annie.

Thank you facebook for once again reconnecting me with someone I probably would have had very little chance of stumbling upon myself.

The Valentine girls and I grew up in Greys Harbor County together, a.k.a. the great northwest of Washington State. In the past few weeks I have made it a weekly habit to read Annie’s often true and/or hilariously well written newspaper column, and her daily stories on her blog. The newspaper column is found in our hometown paper “The Vidette,” but she gives you the link to find it from her blog. Most of her stories apply to all us women all too well!

wait, if you are here… you can already see it!

I’ve been working with the adorable Alyson from seventy and sunny to create a new blog design. She is a creative genius, and I must say, I LOVE it! Good, good work Alyson! I only wish we lived closer to each other so I could meet her in person, and take her to tea for her great work!

I love the personal touches she added, I love polka-dots, banners, and iced tea. yummy!

I also have a “button” now, if you’d like to add it to your blog, please do! Another fascintating outcome of working with Alyson,

our really good friends Matt & Kathy came into town this weekend and surprised us with a 2-day visit! Of course, I had to have Kathy create a blog while she was here…i hope she will keep posting when they return home so I can keep tabs on their family! We love these guys! It was so fun visiting with them, we go way back to our Korea days with these two. We met while we were all newlyweds teaching English in Korea. Wow, that was almost 13 years ago. crazy. Our kids had so much fun running around playing and Kathy and I stayed busy making flower hair clips, and starting the new blog! It was a great Red sox day…we headed over to our favorite tail-gating restaurant and had sushi during the first few innings of the game.

My blog!
I have totally and completely enjoyed this still new addiction…

I am not sure what I did with much of my time, before blogging…

I love that blogging motivates me to keep track of our daily happenings in this crazy Rhodes home. At the end of 2008, I am going to make my first blurb book and CAN’T WAIT! I love the connection I have with everyone out there, whether you are my neighbors who I don’t get near enough time with or family and friends far away that we don’t have any time with, I love keeping tabs on you from this blog land.

Cheers, to many more years to come!

Nicole Hill @ Rubberball did a “Mr. Mom” themed photo shoot with Dusty & Sela this morning.

In about 3 months we will receive a disc with the edited photos, but for now she shared these with us! Nicole was darling to work with!

I, personally, think this pink apron is one of the sexiest things Dusty has worn! If you tease him, you just might find yourself getting one from me for Father’s Day! ha!

Check out Nicole’s blog to see more ~
