KJ spent the night with Dad at the office on Saturday night. He was shooting the ball into this little hoop on the back of my door and he said,
“Dad, I’m gonna pass it to you and you make it from back there, ok?”
I said ok son.
KJ passed the ball to me, I threw it up and of course made it :).
KJ imediately turns to me, points and says,
“That’s what I’m talkin’ about dad… That’s what I’m talkin’ about.” 🙂
Then later we are listening to “Low” by Flo Rida (I know… great influencing dad) and I change the words a little and say
“KJ got Low, Low, Low, Low, Low, Low, Low!”
KJ goes… “Not me… ‘Shawty!'” 🙂
Dusty playing baseball with KJ; spring of 2004.
He had taught KJ how to pitch to him {from his walker} so Dusty could have a little batting practice.
So cute – love father/son time. And Dusty has had an influence on my boys’ music taste. They were looking up Elevator on iTunes cause its one of Dusty’s favorite songs! Please tell me he has the edited version in his truck!
Look at that cute, tiny little man! He sure has grown up, getting all street-wise and all! So fun to have guy-time with the Papa! 🙂
KJ is such a cute little man. I can’t believe how big he has gotten. It is great that they can bond like that! Matt and Kade have ‘sleep overs’ all the time. They camp out in the family room and I am not allowed. They watch movies, play wii, eat popcorn. Just hang out. Boys need that!
Dusty, you are Troy’s long lost twin. He made me swear long ago that we would always allow ball-throwing inside the house. Our walls look awful but you should see Brady’s arm!
KJ is so funny…I love hearing his one-liners!
KJ’s a smart baseball jammer!
You go KJ! I must admit-“Low” is a serious family favorite. You should have seen us roller skate to it at Classic! Maybe it’s best you didn’t.
Sad, but I have to admit that I am having daily-Jane-post withdrawals… Miss you! 🙂
I know you like to wear aprons and velvet track suits but tell me you aren’t dressing your little “shawty” in apple bottom jeans these days. Also I know that what really happened in your office went a little more like this…dad, pass me the ball. “Little Shawty” takes the ball and posterizes Dad (while wearing the baggy sweatpants and the reeboks with the straps) and says “that’s what I’m talking about!”
I also see that this dominance over dad started at a very young age when he blew a fastball right by you from his walker.
