get a load of this place…

it is the happy alt. sign that welcomed me to altNYC. i decided that if you could live inside a blog, the closest thing in reality that could offer such an experience, would be living inside the buildings which encompass martha stewart living omnimedia.

i didn’t know what to expect. but whatever it was, all of my expectations were blown out of the water, and it was better than i ever imagined.

i over-over-grammed {which means: i posted a bajillion pictures of this experience on instagram, considered a social-media-bad-manner by some standards} my three days in NYC, but there is one little moment i saved to share with you here…

something cool happened with piano this year, my kids all became genuinely more passionate about playing. and, it wasn’t with just one kid or two kids — they shared this feeling. i almost felt like there was an unspoken competition with who could practice next. it was really cool to witness. they love playing piano and always want to learn more about the latest model of keyboard coming out.

because of this, everyone improved and everyone was excited about their songs for recital. i watched each of them shine just a bit, very proud of what they were playing.

myla: too lazy to take off her soccer socks/shin guards, so she just hangs out in them… all her energy is used on the field, not at home.

last weekend when we headed to the deCordova sculpture park and museum for father’s day – i just totally fell in love with this place – so i wanted to share a few more photos. maybe they will inspire you to go? you are allowed to picnic on the park grounds, which i think would be so fun!

what they love about their big papi.

kiana: loves one on one lunch dates with her dad, and karaoke.
myla: loves traveling alone with papi, and “daddy’s special” recipe – a unique combination of vanilla ice cream, rice krispies, cocoa, and a lil milk.
kj: loves the stories big papi tells him about his very mischievous ~~childhood~~ life. and nerf gun battles in the basement.
sela: loves bedtime stories by her daddy,

it’s a dream of mine to visit martha stewart headquarters, so i’m kind of geeking-out with excitement. MSH is hosting AltNYC!!! and, i have a pretty good chance of meeting martha stewart herself! you could say, i’m a big fan. {!!!!!} will i see you there – one week from today?
