I went to hang-out with Myla during her class party today. One room mom did a really cute treat idea with ice cream cones/candy – they are “cornucopia’s” = waffle ice cream cones filled with candy corn/etc. The other cute thing a mom did was this turkey made out of fruit/vegetables. The turkey’s head is a Bartlet Pear, if you can’t tell. I couldn’t figure it out at first sight. The kids ate the carrot/tomato kabobs as part of their feast…

In Myla’s 2nd grade class her teacher does this project all year long called “Traveling Tales,” and each kid gets a turn about 3-4 times through-out the year to make one. Myla came home with a HUGE back-pack packed with everything she could or would possibly use to write/create/make a book. Kiana’s class has been studying Native Americans this past month and on Friday the entire unit came to a close with a final “Indian Day” filled with songs, reports, art projects, and other activities. I went to school and had lunch with the girls then volunteered to help with the projects in the afternoon. I took supplies to make leather necklaces with the kids. Kiana and I are matching in our Uggs trying to look like Indians….

KJ’s preschool class went on a field trip today to pumpkinland. It was a beautiful fall day, perfect weather. KJ allowed me to go along with him, and he even insisted I hold his hand nearly the entire time there. I love my boy!

The leaves are changing colors, and the canyon was absolutely beautiful, it was a little chilly but actually great weather for the hike – it was hard to narrow it down, but here’s our favorite pics…Dusty leading the group up the trail ~ our friends who were also in our tour group ~ Kiana and I viewing that stalagmites…As the legend believes – this is the heart of Timpanogos caves ~On our way back down.
