a dream come true…

June 10, 2008

We rode our bikes today down Carterville Rd., then the Provo River trail to “Color Me Mine,” spent about 90 minutes painting pottery and then rode our bikes back home. It was perfect weather. I was riding next to Myla at the beginning of our ride, and I told her about one of my dreams. I wanted to grow up, have daughters, and ride bikes with them…it’s such an amazing feeling when moments like this take place.Kiana, Myla, and two friends Shae & Elizabeth

my girls rock…

June 4, 2008

at climbing!

They are half-way through their week of camp, and loving it!I stopped by to visit them during camp time today and they were just finishing up snack/lunch time. They were playing with a short rope, jump-roping to…”helicopter…helicopter…” I always love to see that some things about little girls growing up never change…Then they had to show me some of their hanging skills with the same rope-Besides the climbing and belaying, their favorite thing of camp is…

…the KING SWING!

I consider this to be child bunji jumping at best.

They clip in, and jump off the 2ND story of the Quarry and continue to swing till their camp director instantly drops them to the floor,

coach pitch

June 2, 2008

Hillcrest Red Sox coach pitch had their first game of the season, and I must say, they have the hottest coach! ohhh…my my!

Pro Look Sports is supplying them with Red Sox jersey’s that have not arrived yet, so they were wearing their city tee’s, but they still managed to look “just OK” and play awesome!

The opposing team didn’t have enough players, so, Myla, Dub, Cameryn, and Kiana played on their team to help them out. Kiana does not play on a team, because this is not really her thing, but she’s a great sport to help out and enjoys it when she does play. She was the catcher and did a great job! Although,

what a day! Myla’s 2nd grade class hosted their annual
“Author’s Tea,”
and it was so impressive! Myla wrote/created a book about “Killer Whales.” Her inspiration for this came from her desire to grow up, one day study Biology {following in her Daddy’s footsteps!}, and then she wants to train/care for Shamu. I think she’s found within herself a pretty true interest, because currently she just had a tadpole die that was almost a frog, we have a cup of dirt in the kitchen that have 2 earthworms living in it, and in my kitchen cupboard she is growing 3 butterflies… Biology could definitely be her thing!

Anyway…All of the parents are invited, and our child reads us their book and another book of Poems they have written all year.

coach Dusty a.k.a. Dad

May 21, 2008

Dusty is coaching KJ’s tee ball team, “Hillcrest Red Sox” and he is coaching Myla’s coach pitch team, “Hillcrest Red Sox.” If you are a Yankees fan, you will definitely bat last…

Dusty held his first practices of the season yesterday, I overheard him saying to another dad…

“There is nothing I enjoy more than being out here playing baseball with my kids.”

He is such a great dad!
He always has KJ bat left-handed so he will be a great lefty, one day…
