friends, i hope you all enjoyed a cozy day filled with much to be thankful for. i know my cup runneth over, and this has been a perfect week and month to focus on my blessings.

first, i want to thank you with big hugs for all your prayers, thoughts, and good vibes you have sent my way for my thyroid surgery. i feel great. i expected to feel good, considering i had a day surgery, and knew my healing time wouldn’t be too long. however, i had no idea i would feel SO GOOD. Plus, i was so well-cared for during the few days i needed extra rest. my family, friends, and neighbors are angels. i had lots of extra snuggles and love from my family.

if you follow me on instagram, then this is old news. but i wanted to talk a bit more about this here.

to those who don’t know – my oldest daughter kiana, “retired” {for lack of a better word} from dance six weeks ago. after devoting most of her life to dance, 12 years to be exact. yes, she is only fourteen {almost fifteen} but my petit woman had given hours and hours, weeks, months, and years to rehearsals. she was committed. she stopped.

the choice to stop was something she had been deliberating for the past couple of years. after a lot of thought, and a few tears,

let me begin by saying – sela went through a ‘hula’ stage earlier this year, and then became obsessed with mime’s. i have no idea why. she would ask me to find videos online for her to watch, and then i’d catch her practicing her mime moves around the house. it just killed me with cuteness.

so, sometime in august when i asked her if she had any idea what she wanted to be for halloween, it was totally appropriate when she said, a mime! {a better choice than hula girl for the weather this time of year!}

she loved acting like a mime + my girl has a serious fetish for black and white stripes!

last last weekend, we hit the road again for a mini trip in honor of columbus day. this time, we headed four hours north to stowe, vermont.

we joined forces with a huge majority of other fellow-new-englanders and did what people do out here at this time of year: we followed the foliage north, and became leaf peepers!

that’s right – we took a weekend trip just to observe the beautiful shades of leaves this area of the country offers at this time of year.

we stopped by the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream factory in vermont, made visits to three antique shops, enjoyed everything the Trapp family lodge had to offer,
