June 28, 2010

thank you…
blanchards {all of you!} for a beautiful three days.
thank you…
lexy & seth for a very delicious-generous lunch date.
thank you…
troy, for doing ALL the driving!!!

thank you…
life,

for good friends & good family,

and baseball.

xoxo.

.....

we also met up with jared & lissette. and katie. and lexy & seth. and eric & joy.

troy’s brother, jared, was one of dusty’s roommates in college…

dusty & troy were roommates in college too.

daphne & i were roommates in college.

daphne liked troy.

i liked dusty…

eventually we all became engaged.

the four of us, we’d run-away for road trips every weekend that we could.

all over southern utah & southern nevada, we’d drive…

then we all got married.

then we lived in korea, and taught english.

then jared met lissette in asia!

they got married at the u.s.

.....

my very favorite games to sit at and watch right now…

our my little man’s cubs games!

{and, of course, moosey’s softball games!}

his season is over. totally done. it went so quick. i was so sad till i learned there are the playoffs! which means MORE GAMES! and starting this week, we are in the playoff tournament.

kj’s known for being one of the best hitters on the team!

and remember, he’s a switch hitter. pretty cool stuff.

i love baseball.

i love my big papi {sexiest little league coach ever!}
i love my little cub.

.....

our big papi had a great father’s day!
we slept in, had a yummy lunch, laid by the pool, watched movies, played games with the kids, and had a yummy dinner. and, we pretty much snuggled all day.

kiana, myla, kj, and sela all spoiled papi with gifts. this year, kiana and myla used their very own money {saved allowance, etc.} to buy their papi’s gifts. i was so impressed, and i think they loved the shopping all the more since they were really buying the gifts! kiana chose a new ‘balance opposites ruca shirt.’ myla chose the patriotic Boston hat Dusty is wearing…

fyi: we call him big papi, for one main reason.

flashback friday

June 11, 2010

in honor of memorial day, last week…

i’ve spent a lot of time thinking about dusty’s mom lately…

she passed away in February of 2007.

i am very willing to argue that she was the worlds best mother-in-law.

to say she was amazing, is not enough. to explain how she was the glue of her family, is not enough. to say she was real, extraordinarily talented and openly flawed, is not enough.

but while i’ve been thinking about her, the one concept that i think she displayed the most, is that she loved.

she loved life. she loved her family. she loved the outdoors.
