Annie asked her readers this past week if Valentine’s day is:
dud or dandy?
my valentine will not be home for valentine’s day, definite dud.
But, earlier this week, I had a delicious lunch at “classy cuisine” with some of my favorite gals…

becky/jenn/shannon/suzie-q/me.

{you have to check out Crew peaking in the picture on the left! such a handsome little guy!}

we even exchanged valentine’s!

maybe i have some of the world’s best girlfriends.

cupid flew by our house last night…

this morning, myla woke up first, went downstairs and spotted the goods. She came right back upstairs to wake up everyone else so she could see what her surprises were.

myla was also the child who woke up first on Christmas morning.

i decided it would be fun to give our kids their valentine’s early. that way they could enjoy their shoes, fun little toys, etc. all week while they are at school making their valentine’s day arts & crafts…

maybe i’ve been married 13 years…

maybe i adore him.

maybe i still get goosebumps when he kisses my neck.

maybe he makes me smile even when i’m grumpy. Even when I try not to smile.

maybe he is the funnest person i could have ever chosen to spend my life with.

maybe he is the most generous person i know.

maybe he is the most attractive man i have ever laid eyes on.

maybe we have a secret way to hold hands.

maybe we have a secret made-up word.

maybe he gives me unlimited support in everything i do.

maybe he has made my life more than everything i ever dreamed it would be.

christmas day

December 27, 2008

Myla was right next to our bed…

“Dad, can I go open my presents?”

“No, wait ten more minutes…”

“Dad, can I go see now?”

“no, ten more minutes…”

“Dad, now?”

Finally, at about 8:20 am, she was given permission…first she had to wake up her other siblings!

We really can’t complain, although santa and mrs. claus were really tired and had been up till about 2am, it was 8:20 am, and I’m sure many other families had been awake long before us!

Christmas morning is just so magical to me. I was pretty much an only child growing up, and never opened presents on christmas morning because with divorced parents…my Mom would have Christmas a couple weeks early or we opened everything on Christmas eve…then I would spend my Christmas with my Dad somewhere else with his side of the family and Dad’s {at least mine} didn’t follow through with the whole “christmas morning/santa”

christmas eve

December 27, 2008

our family tradition of bowling and…

sushi!
Danny’s gift to Dusty, “the mansie!”
another christmas eve tradition,
jammies!
this year, everyone {including Dusty and I} received red “drop-bottom” union suits!
Sela had fallen asleep just before this, and opened her jammies a wee bit later…
with their names/nicknames embroidered on their bums!
We also spent a portion of our evening putting together a “fenway” puzzle- Dusty’s way of including the red sox in our christmas eve…
