concord, massachusetts

December 6, 2012

while our friends were here, we went to concord to see the historical sites…
we were {meaning: i was} a little side-tracked by the charming antique shops…

we’ll go back to concord one day to see the historical stuff. we’ll go back on a warmer day in the spring.

do you antique? it’s a newer obsession of mine. i started here this year!

the freedom trail

December 3, 2012

while our friends scott & susan + kiddos were here, we ventured out to walk the freedom trail in downtown boston. we have seen most of the sites on the trail, but our kids had still never walked it.  husband and i walked it a few years back when we were visiting boston.

this particular day was a beautiful, sunny afternoon when we headed out – we planned on walking it by ourselves, then last minute signed up for a tour which turned out to be worth every penny. the guided tours don’t cover the entire trail, but our tour guide was totally into his character which made history a bit more exciting for all the kids…

a day to be thankful.

November 22, 2012

friends, i hope you all enjoyed a cozy day filled with much to be thankful for. i know my cup runneth over, and this has been a perfect week and month to focus on my blessings.

first, i want to thank you with big hugs for all your prayers, thoughts, and good vibes you have sent my way for my thyroid surgery. i feel great. i expected to feel good, considering i had a day surgery, and knew my healing time wouldn’t be too long. however, i had no idea i would feel SO GOOD. Plus, i was so well-cared for during the few days i needed extra rest. my family, friends, and neighbors are angels. i had lots of extra snuggles and love from my family.

mini sandcastles

August 8, 2012

this week, sela, kj and i have been touring the beaches of massachusetts. searching for our favorite beach while myla is at {her sixth!} tennis camp and kiana is at a dance intensive. and while touring, we’ve gotten a little creative with our sandcastles.

when we were packing our bags this morning, i started digging through our small kitchen cups, etc. – i instantly had the idea to use all mini cups and tupperware for building our sandcastles today. then, i looked through my baking supplies and once i spotted the leftover cupcake flags from the fourth of july, i knew those had to be flags on top of our sandcastles!

once at the beach,

the north end, boston

August 8, 2012

yesterday we spent the morning getting sela & kJ’s passports renewed in the north end – we need them sooner than we realized in case we head up to canada on our future northwest trip… this little outing led us to hang-out in the north end for the morning, and afternoon. then we took the kids home, and husband and i headed back in to the north end for dinner! we like it there, and look forward to spending more time there in the future!

have you been?

it’s more or less little italy with lots of great food – pasta, gelato, pastries… in a charming area of the city. what’s not to like, right?!?

six flags new england

July 2, 2012

this was my first time to go to a six flags! is that crazy? i didn’t go to any big amusements parks growing up, my parents were kind of over that stage of their lives. And since having our own family, husband and I have done all the disney stuff with our kiddos – disneyland, disney world, disney cruise – so it’s time to break off from our routine and try some new parks! do you have any favorites?

It’s a 90 minute drive from where we live to go to six flags new england, and it was the perfect way to take a break from unpacking boxes and laundry. we had about an hour of rain,
