a new-to-me snack that we discovered on our trip to southern california — zip chips! we had the cinnamon swirl, and boy oh boy are they delicious! addicting, actually. i am what you might call a super fan of snacks. and hey, that’s not to say i am not a fan of breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, late night meals, happy hour, etc… but snacks, well, snacks are kind of my favorite. you can snack during all your favorite activities – movies, baseball games, crafting. do you have a favorite snack?
look for zip chips at your local whole foods market.

myla and i have been home twelve hours since our cross-country flight from Los Angeles. I just spent the week in southern california while my twelve year old attended tennis camp. We split our time between Laguna Beach where we stayed in a studio guest apartment with family, Newport, and Irvine. when we arrived last week, i instantly learned that husbands cousin had written a book! this was new to me. somehow, this big news had missed being passed on and i was thrilled to get my hands on a copy. four copies actually.
this cousin is a rockstar. she’s one of those relatives that my girls admire, and when she spends time with us she gives them little female-pep-talks about staying away from boys,

I really appreciate, and enjoy a good spa day, so when my niece {Heather Johnson} gave me a gift certificate for a 50-minute massage + a luxury pedicure at the spa club where she works – I was stoked! A mom has to relax when she’s out of town right?! I’ve also heard some good reviews about massage north austin but we’re yet to take a trip to Texas! Maybe someday…
The Spa club that is *new to me* has three locations in Salt Lake City. While I was in Utah, I stopped by the Jordan Landing location for both of my services. I loved how clean and new the spa was –

Aleks and I met via a virtual-mutual contact this year, and it’s been amazing to learn of his artistic talents. Last week i downloaded an app that Aleks designed called, Gnomie Farmland Adventure.
this app is geared towards younger children, I would say ages 3-6, and it is so unique because mom and dad can record their voices for the child to hear his or her parents when playing the app. I tested it out on Sela this last week and she loves it!

hello friends. my kids are almost out of school for this year, woo*hoooo! and because of that big detail, they are walking in the door each afternoon with armloads of their school stuff. old binders, folders, school work, art projects – you name it, it’s been in their lockers/desks all year and now it’s coming home.
myla brought home her binder from this year and it’s nearly falling apart. which is so sad because it is darling. very original. very myla. when husband and i were in maui i bought her this 3″ covered binder at cinnamon girl as a souvenir from our trip. today i picked it up, searching for a label to see if we can replace it or find another one that is similar because it’s so authentic and cute.
