{muffin tin snacks via armelle, via ohdeedoh, via muffin tin mom}

last week, i spotted this idea on the www.,
and soon after surprised my younger three kids after school
with their first muffin tin meals/snacks.

you can see by my little mister’s response, they were a hit!

have you ever tried muffin tins for organizing snacks? or anything?

there’s so many ways to be creative with snack-time, what do you do???

i, personally, grab a diet tea & protein bar on the run,

christmas card love…

December 4, 2010

i was raised around an older generation that passionately believed in christmas cards.

back in the day they were always hand-written to every single person on the list. my mom still sits in her cottage behind our home and hand-writes all her letters, to every single person on her list. i know she’s been working on them for days and days lately. i do take a more modern {and raising four kids} approach, all two hundred recipients on my list receive the same photo-copied letter, everyone receives the same christmas card…however, i still passionately believe in the christmas card. even with blogging, and facebook, and twitter. i can’t let the art die.

…hand-writing. typed. fun fonts.

holiday home tour…

November 9, 2010
shamelessly, we went straight from halloween to christmas.

on november 1st.

my thanksgiving table will be decorated appropriately…
with turkeys, brown, orange, leaves, and pilgrims.
and, we will feast with giant thankful hearts.

but,

big ‘but’ here…

the ambiance surrounding the next eight weeks
is set in red, silver, white, gold, green,
candy canes, owls, santas, wreaths, and
with lots of lights & sparkles…

.....

she will eventually give herself a haircut…

the little stinker did this while i have been decorating for the holidays,
she found an unguarded pair of scissors, and while i was just two rooms away,
she started cutting…

c’est la vie.

…lets hope, now that all four of my children have done this in
one way or another. that we’re done!

it wears me out emotionally! i like my kids’ hair way too much.

i refuse to chop her hair that short, to make it even…
so, a barrette will be on the left side of her head
for a few months…

nycda – salt lake city

November 6, 2010

…well, after most of our halloween festivities wrapped up last week,
we all headed up to salt lake city to meet up with kiana at her nycda
dance convention-competition.

here’s a little peek at how our family squishes ourselves into one hotel room.

yes, our youngest child throws a fit about her bed on the floor,
which usually means she ends up in someone else’s bed before 2am.

if you notice myla sunken in her bed,
she had messed with the remote-numbers on her bed,
and it was never quite right the rest of the night…

those ‘number’ beds just don’t make any sense to me!

we were all up &
