Ten Beach Road

I thought this was a great book. It seemed to have a little more substance than typical chick-lit. If this was a movie it’d be a drama.

The story of 3 strangers who have been defrauded by the same man who have to work together to rebuild their financial security. The book isn’t completely predictable, which I really liked.

Hmmm… I liked this book. It wasn’t as good as Bitter is the New Black. Her references to pop culture were pretty funny. (Love her reaction to the actor Brian Dennehy, who she instant made reference to his role as Tom Callahan Sr (Tommy Boy)) but otherwise it was mostly about how she had trouble with not filtering. Which I find kind of annoying most of the time.

Not saying I didn’t enjoy, just with so many other books I want to read, and with so little time, I wish I had made a better choice.

Bitter is the New Black

I just finished reading Bitter is the New Black, by Jen Lancaster. Very similar to Save Karyn which she even references in the book.  Very witty and well written. Funny!  Girl who loves her clothes and accessories and her fabulous apartment loses her job post 9/11.  Quick fun read. Although now it’s got me thinking about job security, and even freaked me out a bit when I came home from work and Chad’s car was in the garage. He never is home before I am!    Thanks to Sarah for this recommendation.
