Cabo, Mexico – 2017/18

Hello friends! Is anyone out there?!! I am making an attempt to return to the world of blogging, and as my first project this month I’ve been getting caught up on making videos from some of our trips this past year. This was our Cabo trip in Dec. 2017/early January 2018. It was full of fun and good friends. One for the books! Or shall we say, one for the technology!!? Hehe… Watch if you’d like… xo.

Elf on the Shelf PRIDE FESTIVAL

Tis the season for Elf on the Shelf! Our elves Mr. Bean & Ruby had twins a couple of years ago. This year when they returned they had a note that said parenting makes them lazy and stated that they would only be moving every Friday. (win-win!) This past Friday they moved and had a PRIDE FESTIVAL!!! What a perfect time of year to be celebrating PRIDE!

If you’d like the two printables for this idea they are available in my shop! Each printable is $5.00, I realize this is more than the standard $1.00 I charge but it’s for a good cause! If you purchase either one of the pride festival printables (or both!) the money will all be donated to Encircle, an LGBTQ+ Youth & Family Resource Center located in Provo, Utah.

I am one of the art program hosts at Encircle and this donation will help keep our doors open in the upcoming year!  It’s a good time of year to give and LOVE LOUDER!  And, it would make me so happy to have these printables shared all over the internet. Pin them on Pinterest, please include them in a round up of Elf ideas, any way you can – just use proper credit and links to here. You will be helping buy supplies for my art classes, helping to give someone a free hour of therapy if they want it, and helping to keep the love going in this incredible house.

For the garlands – I simply cut out the rainbow triangles and using sticky glue dots (ZOTS) I stuck each one on a red pieces of yarn. I like that it looks festive & pretty with the rainbow. Then I tied them to the tree branches.

For the rainbow glasses, I recommend using an x-acto knife to cut them out, then also using one ZOT behind the center of the glasses – just stick them on your elves nose!

Here’s a peek at what is included on each printable:

cabo, mexico 2015

In December we embarked on our 15th annual trip to Mexico with the Blands. It was a little off from our normal routine as the Bland’s had an unexpected death in the family, Scotty & Mckenna left after two days to return home to the funeral and to be with extended family.

Due to this I didn’t take out my camera quite as much for photos and videos, but I filmed just enough to be reminded of what we love about this special place of ours – for one more year. And our Myla turned sixteen while we were there!

Press Play! xo.

illustrated, watercolor, lil hipster valentines

illustrated watercolor valentine via seejaneblog shopWe had a new idea for Sela’s valentine’s this year – she modeled for me, and I took her picture then turned her into an illustration. I also did a little watercolor, then we scanned, and printed on yardstick to make them into cards. This was the funnest project. And now her cards are little Sela’s! We just added some of her favorite treats in red and pink, and a little leather tie. wha-la! If you happen to have a little hipster who would like these too – the download is available in the shop.

mini snowmen wiht flower crowns - hippie snow squad via seejaneblogIn December I was taking a final and it was snowing outside. It had been snowing for days and I was DYING to be home playing with my kids instead of sitting in a classroom taking a test. And out of the blue I had this most random idea that this year when we made snowmen – we had to make mini snowmen with mini carrot noses. And, we would make mini flower crowns for them! It was the worst to sit in class and continue my test when all I could think about were cute mini bohemian snowwomen!!!   Read more…
