Recipe Collection

I am good at trying recipes. Good at documenting them and pretty good about documenting them on my blog, but have been looking for a way to get them printed. I hate writing them out on cards. I’d rather print them off so I can read them. But then I end up with sheets of paper and printing them every time I make them. Plus I have a bunch of ones that I am finally admitting are not going to be made again (or ever)…

So now I am taking my favorites and converting them to cute printable 4×6 photo-sized cards. I had them developed and stuck them in a little 4×6 pocket photo album. Perfect.

May menu -Looking forward to grilling out! Although will miss some of those hearty crockpot meals… although if this current weather keeps up, I may have to change back to the crockpot…

I did create a January 2011 Menu, I just never got around to posting it.

And although a week late, I made one for February too. One week of planning a day at a time is just too hectic sometimes. And then I end up completely eating too much or crappy foods and then my “skinny” jeans don’t fit as well! oops!

So I didn’t make a November menu. Although I don’t know if I would have followed it with all the chaos of unhealthiness we had, but I did create a December menu. It is my hope that we can follow it and won’t be making adjustments based on what our stomachs can handle!

July has been like a blur. I think I blinked for like 10 days! Hopefully August isn’t quite so chaotic, although in the midst of chaos last month, I was glad to have my menu plan even if I didn’t stick to it all the time! It just made grocery shopping and a lot of nights easier!

So busy, I know. I’m ignoring my blog. But being this busy I sure have been thankful for having June’s menu plan!

Tonight, while ordering groceries (yes, my busy-ness means I will splurge for groceries online and avoiding grocery stores with a 2 year old on the weekends!) for our July 4th bash, I planned out July’s menu! It’s a little more sparse, but I think that’s realistic. We often have leftovers and/or change our minds, because some days just warrant a little spontaneity!

Way back over a year ago, I planned my menu for a whole month a couple times. It worked well. I’m not sure why I got away from that.

But I’ve decided to try it again as I transition back to work, especially since we are going to try and use our Y membership every Monday & Thursday after work.

Some More Details

Yesterday, I spiffied up an old bulletin board for Maria’s room. Today I hung it up along with some other things… most importantly butterfly & flower decals. She hasn’t seen any of it or doesn’t know I was going to do this, so I’m excited to see her reaction when she comes home tonight! Finally added some details to a fairly blank room.

the bulletin board – simply painted the frame with some pink paint that I had. I found the butterflies at JoAnn Fabrics. They are wooden and were already painted – just $.59 each. I simply hot-glued them to the frame.
