On Track

It has been a busy couple of weeks. I am finally feeling in the groove at work. But in the groove means busier. But that’s good. Good to feel like I am contributing!

Last weekend we were busy with a family picture section, a visit to the pumpkin patch, plus the normal grocery/Target run. Although last week was not just a normal Target run, I got a new vacuum. a Dyson! So then we cleaned too! :)

This week marked week #2 of Weight Watchers. And I am down a total of 5.8 lbs. Yay!! Pants are a little looser already!

Even celebrated today and bought a few new things. At Kohl’s! I found several cute things. You know how when you aren’t looking you find cute things! yeah, that was today.

Some pictures to upload at some point for you too. Just on the laptop and all the pictures are on the big computer all the way downstairs… and I’m trying to watch Thursday’s Grey’s Anatomy upstairs. so you’ll just have to wait!

Counting Again

I finally have no excuses. I tried doing Weight Watcher’s when I was on maternity leave, but then decided I wasn’t ready. And that not sleeping through the night was a good enough excuse.

And since it appears that I may never sleep through the night again, AND they have meetings at work AND my company will pay for half of it, I signed back on.

So, I have been eating vegetables like crazy. I think it’s good for me! Don’t tell anyone! AND my new Pampered Chef find is going to be a big help, especially since my friend Sarah has the patience to finely chop salads and introduced us to the salad that you can drink!

I cheat and use my new Pampered Chef Salad Chopper. So sweet! Just put everything in a bowl and cut it all up into nice little pieces!

I am only 4 days into this counting stuff and finding I do have pretty good self constraint when I need to (and when feeling accountable!) I think what I’m going to do differently this time is not go out of my way to plan all my meals around low calorie options, but to really watch portions and keep it real with eating more fruits and vegetables and drinking water.

Fitting In

I did manage to find time to weigh myself again this weekend. Down another 1.5 lbs. I will take it. It’s actually the lowest I have been since having Maria and probably right about where I was when I got pregnant.

That being said, I was traveling a ton at that time and eating out ALL the time, so I was not exactly at my ideal.. but only off by a few lbs.

I’m definitely not looking to whittle down to nothing (because I know I can’t maintain anything) but hoping to set myself up to keep my pants fitting through the holidays!

P.S. I know I promised more about the weekend.. it’s coming… hopefully tonight.

Fitting In – Week 1

I did fairly well last week on my renewed diet awareness!  On Saturday I was down 1.5 lbs.

I honestly was a bit surprised, because I hadn’t done well at a team lunch earlier in the week and lunch out with Chad on Friday, AND with having birthday cake and pie in the house.  But I did do well with my other lunches and dinners. I even avoided the Turkey Noodle Casserole by eating an Amy’s Organic frozen burrito instead.

This morning, I took a quick break and hiked over to Target and grabbed a couple frozen dinners and yogurts for my lunches this week.  That combined with bringing fruit/veggies from home each day, hopefully I have set myself up for staying on track at least at lunch time!

Another Gift Shopping Tip

I love deals!  I love shopping for deals, but at Christmas with so much shopping to be done, and crowds at the stores, I really love shopping online!

I’m sure if you’ve been reading my blog for very long, you know I am a big fan of retailmenot.com and ebates.com.

But I’m also a big fan of eBay.  Yes, I know you’ve all heard of ebay, and know that I use it. And I don’t have a bunch of rules about eBay to share because I’m not that dedicated. (But I know people who are that dedicated!).

But eBay is a great place to find anything Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Mary Kay, etc.  for a great deal!  I like it because I can get the stuff without the hassle of using a consultant and usually getting a break on price or at least shipping!  And unless it’s a discontinued product, you can almost always find it new!

My most recent finds:

  • a replacement for my PC mini-baker (that got broken when I let Maria empty the cupboards) – retails for $21.75 + shipping, I got it with shipping for $20.50 and in a discontinued color that I preferred!
  • a Christmas gift: Mary Kay Satin Hands- retails for $30 + shipping or finding a consultant to deliver. I got it for $17.50 shipped.

Do any of you have some great eBay stories or tricks?  Leave them in the comments!

Fitting In

… to my jeans!

OK, they still fit, but they are much tighter than I’d like them right now!

And yes, I just made lefse, and today is Chad’s birthday, so I will be making banana cream supreme later.

And yes, I have plenty going on with work, the holidays, etc, that I know taking on one more thing may be crazy.

BUT I don’t want to put this off until after the holidays. For one thing, I’ll hate my clothes between now and then. And another thing, then I will have to deal with starting up and with all kinds of other crazy people starting too!

Therefore, I am taking the lead of Jen and re-upping at Weight Watchers (though just the online program) and following the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans in the hopes of losing 7.5 lbs.  I’ll keep you posted, and feel free to share any advice or join in!

Wii… Fit!

So far today I’ve watched Chad hula-hoop and then I bounced soccer balls off my head and went slaloming -  The good news is that my Wii-Fit age is my exact real age. That made me feel good. I won’t tell you what Chad’s Wii Fit age is but he wasn’t very happy!
