I finished reading Before You Know Kindness, by Chris Bohjalian, a few days ago. He also is the author of the book Midwives (which was an Oprah selection several years ago). I loved Midwives. It was a real page turner. Before You Know Kindness was good, but did not have the same draw. The story just didn’t have the suspense. I also felt like I had a hard time feeling compassion for the “victim” like I did in Midwives. This was a decent read, but I’d definitely recommend Midwives first.
WOW – this looks really deep. I have a trip to the library planned for Monday anyway; think I might pick this one up too!
Love the new blog, by the way!
